How in the HECK do people hit you from sooooooo far away with an SMG when I can barely even see them across the board?

As FK said in a different forum, the new patch changed the settings some, and I think he said he's planning on tweaking his mod once he gets most of the user issues with the pure taken care of. In the mean time, the SMG seems to be king on #2.

Most of the time, I hit folks at a distance not necessarily by seeing them as much as seeing their muzzle flash, or knowing that folks use particular spots for cover. While moving, I might fire some suppression fire at a popular spot, and you'd be surprised at the results sometimes. Not a bunch of kills, but enough to make it worth doing.

Try using one of the stock skins for the enemy that are dark with full length coats. You can use Panzer Commander if you're Allied and Red Navy Seaman if you're Axis.

It DOES give you a bit of an advantage, let's you see them a bit further.

It helps if you have a graphics card that allows you to run the game in the highest resolution with everything maxed out. I use a Geoforce4 ti4600 and keep pretty good framerates in most maps with the highest settings, even though I only have a 1.2gHz chip.

The dark outfits show through the "fog of distance" the best. It ain't cheatin', but it probably ought to be.

Hopefully one of these days the server will use forced models and such advantages will be negated.

Used to be if you even poked your head out to deliver supression fire your flashskin-painted butt would get potted in a New York second.

But with the advent of sv_pure you'll find that standard infantry tactics like suppression fire actually net results!

What I used if I using any of the rifles or the smg's I use my binaculars to see as far as possible and put the center of the binaculars on the target righ cllicking and shooting. Most of the time I get the kill. Now you guys are going to use this on me!

Some how I don't think that my last post made any sence. I was tired when I wrote it.
Use your binaculars to aim than right click and shoot. I tell you, it will work 2 out 3 times.

DEATH BY BINOCULARS!

I dont know if this is cheating or not but ive noticed if you look sideways ( turn ur mouse so ur looking in the corner) you can clear some of that fog, its a glitch but hey it works, a couple of times ive seen guys that one cant see DIRECT, but u turn ur mouse to the side and look at an angle and you can see further!!!!!! Not that im using that, its just what ive noticed! The only disadvantage to this thou is that when u meet up wiht the ENEMY he/she tends to kill you sooner cuz ur turned at an angle.........
