Every once in a while I get to do some cool things for work. Last week I was at the manufacturing facility for the M1117 ASV (armored security vehicle) and the LCAC (Landing Craft, Air Cushion)

These things are really cool close up. The LCAC is huge. It can hold 4 tanks.

Hold on to your seat........... I am a forensic accountant. I specialize in fraud investigations. In order to protect the innocent, I was NOT doing a fraud investigation last week, however.

Oh, it looks like the M1117 picture is red x.

LoL! A bean counter looking for the dirt! Can't decide it that's sounds like fun or is boring as boring can be!

Angus Thermopyle
As far as bean counter type work, I think it is the most interesting. What do you do?

Service Eng for the Timken Co. We manufacture bearings and specialty steels. I support customers. This takes me into many manufacturing facilities and testing labs. Neat stuff, always something different.
I've seen everything made from Rice-A-Roni to Tomahawk missles, toilet paper to Nascar engines. Somtimes my support makes a difference in how these products are designed, manufactured or work.

So you perform autopsy's on dead company's?
Angus Thermopyle
Um, sometimes they are going to be dead.

I am a coroner for companies. I look into their accounting records to see what went wrong in terms of whether there was intentional misstatements in the recording of financial transactions. Most of the time, however, the companies are dead or close to it. they have a problem and want to see if it was intentional or the result of bad decisions/external factors.
