Ohhhhh........ sorry, but it's killjoy time
Well my bestest chums-
First as the clip-title says- French-CANADIANS.... not French. They are Canadians - with distinct Quebecois accent - I believe from the 'Vandoos' unit. It's an old clip too- likely a training vid not in Afghanistan. Note uniform colours.
French troops are stationed in Kabul area in Afghanistan;
recent French casualties-not while running away;
http://www.guardian.co.uk/afghanistan/stor...2174208,00.htmlCurrent contingent of French forces in Afghanistan;
http://www.lefigaro.fr/english/20070430.WW...bul_region.htmlIn the eyes of some, French troops on the front in harms way or not still get mocked. I still wonder why people equate the French govt decision not to go to war in Iraq, with French soldiers themselves being cowards?
Me wonders if HF will be dared into a challenge to show otherwise.......Naturally I'd start of with Lafayette and Yorktown.... or the Normans at Hastings
HF blah blah time----->
French-Canadian military units have no reputation of running away from fights - from the War of 1812 onwards they were mixed with their English speaking counterparts in the Colonial-then- the Canadian army. They were involved savage no-quarter given fighting in Normandy Campaign which was the norm in the Canadian sector as they faced off against ruthless SS units.
Their fighting efficiency borders on fearsome.
