My trusty Boomslang 2000 http://www.razerzone.com/products/index.html is getting tired. I have been looking at the MX500 and the MX700 from Logitech. Cordless sounds cool, but I am worried about the weight with the batteries.

To all the gaming guru's out there, what mouse do you recommend?

Peace.

All over but the Crying
I am using the logitech dual optical mouse and it seems to work pretty good. Although I think their driver support leaves a little to be desired

I use the Inetllimouse Explorer 3.0, its optical and works great, but the 2 extra buttons are not recognised my MOHAA for some reason sad.gif

i have a mx-500 and a intellimouse 3.0....
logitechs software for mx series is little too dinky as you can't config. side buttons for leaning., I have leaning enabled with thumb buttons on other mouse and it is excellent...
ps with a wireless one you could get a small lag time to it recognizing the movement

You have to set the two side buttons to backspace and delete since the default is set to WEB "back" and "forward" which is not a standard key stroke recognized by MOHAA.

Using the intellipoint software, change and save you settings, then assign MOHAA tasks to your new buttons.
The side buttons can only be set to a limited number of options in the MS software and I found "backspace" and "delete" the most suitable for MOHAA.

I am also in the market and have been looking at the MX 500 and MX700.

Please give some feedback on either of them if you have'em!

Just switched to an optical mouse myself...a cheapie, like everthing else in my case (with the exception of my video card).

Seems to play really smooth, but....

I have the bad habit of picking the mouse up and moving it, developed during my months of play with the ol' ball mouse. Gets me killed in close quarters all too often! LOL

YO BRO.........HELP WITH THAT..........well what u gotta do is assign it to enter or space or whatever other KEY button ( YOU CAN GO INTO THE PROGRAM THAT CAME WITH THE MOUSE AND CHANGE IT IN THERE) and then when u go to the OPTION in MOHAAS, u click the button and its gonna assign it then! I had that mouse too but it sucks, couldnt get used to the LEAN buttons , so i got myself the cheaper kind and it works better than the other one......I HAVE INTELLIMOUSE OPTICAL, and its got 1 button on each side perfect for leaning,,,,,,,,,,,some of you guyz might have noticed that IMMY has been leaning a bit too much lately biggrin.gif but all i can say is KILL YA.........

I've been using the MX500 Logitech for about two months and i love it. I found that it was real fast for the first month (alittle to fast ! hard to control) and then the pads on it started to wear and it slowed down which made it easier to aim. The weight thing, well its not much differant then the other mouses that i have used, the little extra wieght makes it control better. in my opinion. I have the MX200 on my other computer and it has the same optics as the 500 and 700 without the extra buttons and weights little less. Price well i payed $39 for my 500 and $19 for the 200. I hope that helps.
If anyone has figured out how to get the extra buttons on the MX500 to work in the game let me know, i haven't had any luck doing it.

logitech has put out new drivers pack I read it should fix the prob but I have not tried it yet with my mx700

Go to Logitech Properties and you have to assign Buttons 2 and 3 something other than the default "BACK" and "FORWARD" internet settings which don't register in Game as commands.

Go to control options in MOHAA and see what other buttons you can assign commands...ex. "page up" and "page down" set for the two sides.

Logitech MX 500 and 700 are both AWESOME.......

I use the MX 500 and Sokhar uses the MX 700 and we both really dig them.

Hope this helps!

I have a GE optical that will cause me to "freak out" if I turn too quickly...ie, turn quick and I will end up either facing up or down in the opposite direction..any where but in the correct direction,LOL!! That's why it seems I am in slow mo when I get caught from an angle and don't turn quick enough, hehehehe!! I WAS turning, hehe. Just that my mouse put me in a different direction and I get killed. For ten bucks what can I expect,LMAO!!
{DDS}OveRLorD
I just use the standard Gateway ball point mouse, with the 2 button, and wheel.

Jesus, what the hell are u other people talking about, lol.

i stubbled the other day upon making the side buttons of the mx-500 work. but i was in mohaa so i played instead of getting out to see what I did. then forgot. i will update further when i get it correct. Also , i agree with the 500 being easier to aim but when i switch back to the intellimouse rxplorer 3.0 iseem to throw it across table.its much harder to aim since and muscle will move alot . my ingame seetting in almost min. to help counter

and york try lowering your sensitivity more ingame my 500 did that when i got it.my wife likes playing the way you descibed the mouse sens. though She's weird

I was talking about the logetch mouse. The mouse exe that the config utilty loads doesn't work with games. It is a known error. I've had my mouse config with z c since the day i got it but thank you though it might be usefull info to others

Standard Microsoft 2 buttons and a wheel. I've had it about 5 years but still works well.
I've noticed many of you have the Dual Optical Logitech and I've heard good things about it. This question might have been answered in an earlier post but is it heavy?

I use a Microsoft Opitcal Mouse Blue. Seems to work fine. Sometimes you guys hand me my ass on a plate, and sometimes I hand you yours.

Intellimouse Explorer 3.0, and a Nostromo Speedpad = Lot's of extra kills for me! biggrin.gif

I have a new HP mouse with triple rotary kinetic sensors, and gyroscopic stabiliser seems to work very well.

The weight is fine and the extra 5 buttons helps with running , reloading, shooting, leaning, jumping, crouching without touching the keyboard.

Of course I also use thought control for all other actions to save touching the keyboard.

regards

svoller
