How long? I miss the days of the old 930, classic 930. It's nice and roomy now at the newer venue but something is missing... oh yeah, the rats. biggrin.gif

I had too many good times at the old club hanging out with bands before and after shows. Too many to list, but a few good times were with Glenn Danzig during Samhain and Danzig, Ian MacKeye from Fugazi, Face to Face (good food fight), NoFX, Jello Biafra, Slayer, Dead Milkmen a few times, Die Kruzen (even though my German was too sloppy to know what they were saying but beer is a universal language), Corrosion of Conformity, Mike Ness, OpIV and Greenday, Beastie Boys, ... geez, the list goes on and on. Bands were so accessible there and then. Now I'm just an older guy that doesn't seem to fit into the crowd. My girl dragged me to a Marilyn Manson show there two years ago... I was actually impressed w/the show. All the people there were wearing leather or barely anything at all. I felt like such a petiphile looking at 15 year old girls with their boobs hanging out. ugh.

dude happy one-step-closer-to-death day,

I wen to the 930 about 9 years ago, saw crystal waters, color me bad, and a litle known boy band called nsync. Free tickets and i was a color me badd fan (ugh) but it was jammed with tow types of women, the young faceless 15 year olds, and their 40 year old moms, i was 24. I had to slam my lil poncho in the door to get the gay off of it...btw it is safer to go their than the friggin zanzibar (three shot at 4am on friday, or something like that...)

BEEP BEEP BEEEP BOOOOOOOOOO

The Go-Go's show was great, 25 year anniversary of Beauty and the Beat. They played the entire album plus a few covers, including Minor Threat! I was impressed. They were all still looking great except for the lead guitarist/keyboardist... looked like a drag queen. So there was this guy at the show dressed in a pink dress and a pearl choker, WTF? I don't know what it is, but it seems that every show we go to has a huge gay crowd. Went to the Shi-Sha lounge afterwards and got a huge hooka with mango tobacco, soooo smooth.

Yeah, old Go-go's! They started out in the late 70's as a ska punk band but rode the transition into new wave pop punk in the early 80's during the spawn of Mtv. Am I the only one or am I just old?
