Actually Druid, we have two servers and two vents, as well as two websites (one just for downloads). It's a redundancy thing. However, there are some people that some of us like to communicate with and play with. Goosedown is one of those people. Since we don't want to chat about our vent in game, and they don't spend much time worrying about the forums because they like to play more than read this stuff, How would you suggest that we communicate with them?

HarryCarry has never been anything but polite on vent. Lipton is always polite. Rutuu felt like he walked into an ambush when he entered the lobby and first Cannuck (who was polite) and then others came up to tell him that he couldn't be there. Some others are young and headstrong, but they were NOT recruiting or otherwise breaking rules.

As someone who is analytical (it's in my old job title of Operating Systems Analyst), I can't help but wonder what the unstated point of all of this is. I suppose it could be a cooling off period, but for whom. Is tehre some excitement that I'm unaware of. I suppose it could be a protective measure, but why would one want to protect people from talking to their friends. Then, of course, there is the third possibility...

I think it's fairly obvious there was a lot of stuff going on that you were on aware of.
I think a cooling off period is a sensible way to handle this situation.

As I said in the other topic all of 20 minutes ago.
People are still welcome to play on our server as long as they follow these 3 simple rules.
1) Don't use the private password for the servers as it's reserved for the Regs & MOB.
2) Don't recruit on our servers.
3) Don't advertise your site or server on ours.

BTW as much as someone suddenly complains about #3, thats always been the rule at MOB.
#3 has already been broken more than once, on our Vent and on our server. Did the people who did it mean to do anything wrong, probably not. That doesn't mean we should have to be put in a position of babysitting on vent to insure it doesn't happen again.
For those who are actually here just to have fun.
They well be welcome back on vent soon enough.

In case you weren't sure how things worked, here is how you communicate with somebody involved with MOB after you leave. They come to you. If they don't, then I'm sorry. If people you guys like didn't leave and stayed here, and now they don't come visit, well, I guess you should have thought about that. This isn't an open playground for anyone to come around to. In case anyone forgot, we have a PRIVATE vent password. Just because you know the password does not mean that you can do what ever you want.
In fact, the idea of changing the password was brought up by regs. Many were left feeling uncomfortable with what happened and weren't sure how to deal with vent, so they suggested we change the pass.
We decided that wasn't needed, but Druid thought it would be better to at least request BSS not to use it for a while

To Miked, all you have to do is post your password here for your vent and those who want to go visit will. I am friends with a lot of you who left, but all Druid did was ask politiely for a cooling down period. Why is it such a big deal. Well, we continue to see why you didn't pursue journalism. You have completely mischaracterized what happened when Rutuu joined our vent. Crazy Canuck did indeed enter the lobby to politely inform him that we were requesting that all BsS members stay off Vent for a week to allow things to calm down. Snot Rocket and I joined the channel in case Rutuu had anything pertinent to say about the situation. We never uttered a word. Rutuu politely acknowledged what CC had told him and left the channel.

By your insinuation, you clearly seek to inflame the situation. If you choose to characterize events that have transpired, please do so in an accurate manner, or don't do it at all. We've had enough drama. We simply want to be able to get back to enjoying our gaming. Why on earth can't you do the same on your own game server and vent??

You know, the past week or so had been great. At our place, we basically had NO DRAMA. I believe that I should thank MOB for providing some. It seemed quiet over here as well,. I had tried to help Polska with his sig software question. There was the joke about the color purple in my sig. But basically everything was quiet. More importantly, the game was fun.

I hope that you realize that you've now set up an either/or situation. The kids in both clans have friends in the other. The net result here is going to be unhappiness for all of them.. In case you don't remember, when [RaW} banned MOB members based on our clan we all thought that it was stupid. The other things that they did, deleting posts, banning people from their forums if they complained seemed as silly and childish as admin killing people to plant a base.

I can tell you that on a yearly basis, Americans without alot of money don't often get screenings there. How many people have you ever met that had stories go on National News? That is by no means the same thing. An out of control [RAW] admin kicked a banned a MOB member and then went through the whole B.S. on their forums without any justification as [RAW] later admitted and apologized for. That is by no means the case here.
If someone with BsS tags has done something wrong, it's a reflection on the rest of the team.

Well, same thing here.
I agree that puts several people in an unfair & unfortunate position, as I've said now for the 10th time.
But WE DIDN'T PUT YOU IN THAT POSITION.

BTW I'm only holding BsS to the same level I wouldn't expect you to hold MOB to. Or for that matter, the same level I've held MOB players to in the past. In the mohaa day there were several MOB player who were banned from several other servers for spawn killing. I've publicly said on several occasions if anyone plays on another server, don't complain if they get banned for breaking that server's rules.
Do you really want me to list all the reasons why we might not want some BsS people on here?

It's been a rule of MOB from the very beginning for other clans not to recruit or advertise their server or site on ours. It's been listed on the server rules from the very beginning. It says so on the MOTD screen that you see every single time you've join our servers.
The above rule is exactly why I just deleted Choth's last post.

There are people who are unfortunately caught up in this by no fault of their own.

Don't worry, Rutuu. There are no hard feelings. This is just going to take a bit of getting used to. And yes, there is no love lost between some of the parties. But in general, I think everything is for the best this way, as I'm sure BsS feels. This isn't a personal attack on anyone. This is us trying to prevent a total meltdown between the two clans. Things are much happier here, and I'm sure there too. In a week or so (Druid and RealDeal always would point out that a week in the gaming world lasts forever) everything will most likely be back to "normal".
So until then, lets all just play nice in our own seperate spaces, and have fun.
