Well, I've been playing a bit on the server the last few days, and one of the things I like about it is the trash talking and what not. It reminds me of our old mohaa server. This kind of thing no longer happens on MOB servers. We generally expect people to "play nice". I don't know if this attitude will sit well with the servers current regulars. If that's how they like to play, I think we should keep it that way. I would like the FS guys to fill us in on their rules and regulations so that we know how things were run on their server.

Just so you all know, I agree. Steel and the FS ran a great server...and if your skin is to thin to take a little trash talk...wonder what a bullet would do to you.

Amen! I actually thought I was playing against Diesel today because this guy had a "Sit down!" bind. Then I realized that it was actually several people saying it. Yay! Trash talking! One guy got out of line with some talk at the end of a map. He was gone next map, so I assume the FS guys there took care of it.

well i did notice alot of cursing and what not but who cares! itll be our r rated server! oh by the way i noticed this when fuck face joined the server and killed me endlessly!

I dunno guys, it was very freeing in the beginning, to have a server where you could swear and not get kicked. But many times I've thought about stopping or limiting the cursing, because it really can affect the "tone" of the server, making it sort of mean-spirited and creepy.

I always tried to bring the hammer down on guys who used cursing as part of personal attacks on other players. And I never allowed racial or oother personal slurs. But once you allow cursing, the horse is sort of out of the barn in many ways, know what I mean?

You also don't want to soil the good {MOB} name and reputation. Honor is something hard-earned and tough to get back once it's gone.

On top of this, these days you have to be careful about minors coming into a public venue that is raunchy. A clan I was friends with were threatened with a lawsuit by parents of a minor who found that cursing and porno avitars and sigs were allowed in the clan's forums. It was no end of grief for the clan's leaders for quite a while there.

Just my two cents.

There's a difference between trash talk/ taunting and cursing. One can be done without the other. I understand that an occassional curse isnt anything to get wound up about but I think the general MOB no foul language/ racial slurs allowed should stand. This is afterall now a MOB server.... We could end up attracting the same type people we try to keep out now if we change our long standing rules.
