It does seem to grasp the concept of the original, but the idea of the decepticons attempting to "wipe out" humans would have been a bit heavy for the kids the cartoon aimed at....

Oh, I almost forgot, Soundwave was the coolest, he had Ravage the dog/cat thing jump out of him as well as other mini cassettes that did evil.

I was using a phonetic spelling of V'ger. The intro trailer of Transformers reminded me of the hints through "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" as to the origin of the powerful alien force heading to earth.

So, I was agreeing with Bargod, but adding that the movie looks to be Star Trek: The Motionless Picture meets Terminator meets Alien meets Predator meets Independence Day... only WAY cooler. I hope it lives up to its billing.

yeah ,the coolest part was the first 5 minutes with the klingon ships then it was an acid trip into bad movie land.i was like 10 or so and i really liked star trek,in the middle of the movie i remember saying what the f*** this is star trek?? wrath of kahn all the way!

Yeah, I have to agree. Die hards like us wanted to see phasers and photon torpedos tearing up some Klingon cruisers and Romulan birds of prey! (She canna take much morre, Captain!) LOL. Wrath of Kahn was definitely closer to expectations.
