OK this tank never enter the war but if it did and the germans made, lets just say 10.000 of them no one be safe on the battlefield. See if someone can name the tank, i give you some hints.

1. It was over 200Tons [yes over 200 tons]
2. The shells where over 250lbs each [damn one of those suckers would of made someone's day bad]
3. Two prototypes of these tanks where made.
4. The turret alone weighed 50 tons.
5. The armour was as thick as 240mm.
6. The length of tank was 30 feet.
7. Its main armament was a 128mm gun and for secondary armament had a Panther's 75mm gun mounted co-axially.

Well too maney hints i think but what the hell. And im not BS you here about these tanks.

I just did this to see if anyone eles is into WW2 history like me...

P.S. This one is crazy

the strangest design was for a 1500 ton tank with three main guns, two facing rearward in their own turrets. This leviathan would have been powered by four diesel engines normally used in submarines.

damn 1500 ton tank lol....its not a tank its a Fort with wheels on it.....

Well 200tons your not going fast it went only 12mph and not too maney bridges out there that can supporrt 200tons. Took too long to build. idk im just guessing here.

- To heavy to drive in the field
- Speed, 12 mph, the war was ended before the tank could reach the battlefield
- Finances
- Short of fuel, raw material
- Need a lot of people to operate it.
Barkmann
True on ALL points Rommel

ps- when you say builded- the correct word is 'built' -that's the past tense of 'build'. I know-another odd english word to remember tongue.gif

Panther-> Germans were saying 'holy moly-achtung!' when they first came up against the t-34. However the Panther's initial debut at Kursk was not so stellar - from what I recall off the top off my head. unsure.gif
But yes it did finally become a fearsome tank in its later designs.
Barkmann
OK Hell thanks for that little help.
Yeah its true when the panther and tiger first came onto the battlefield, they where not stellar but like you said afterwards they where fearsome tanks.

Anyways heres another cookie..IPB Image

Actually some topics are well worth repeating; new folks show up in the forums all the time meaning they never had the opportunity to read through a popular old thread. And for older 'geezas' like me- it refreshes my knowledge on facts too laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif
