First loss in a long time for us scrim guys. FKR took us down on their Smolensk CTF map, winning round 1 2-0, and round 2 by same score.
FKR is loaded with talented players who are masters of this game type, so we had our work cut out for us, and we could not power through them. Switching from a defensive posture to start to an all-out offensive push in the end, we still could bring a flag home.
Unfortunately, I'd say half our team never once played CTF on Smolensk before the match, and almost the same amount had not even played their mod, plus we had no practice. With a team as good as FKR is on their own map, that was an equation for the score we got, but we did manage to hold them off from winning either game outright, taking them the distance both times. In the end, most of us did our best in difficult circumstances. I give credit to all MOB and REG members who showed up to play a gametype we aren't that familiar with. No one can claim MOB shys away from a challenge.
But in summery, give credit where it is due. Congrats FKR on a well played match and sound strategy. Job well done.

They are masters on this map and they schooled us. Regardless of the strangeness of the weapon mod, FKR has some great players.
Sometimes in losing we become better winners:)

Nice try guys, wish I was there..ok loving it here...we'll get them next time

I have to say that the mod they use makes all players good. I would say challenge them to a CTF on our server I bet the outcome would be a lot different.Tough loss.

I enjoy playing against Soupy, Heiny and the rest on their Large map server. I'll have to try and make a match sometime.

It was a fun match. Any chance we can do these scrims and matches a little later? I was handicapped by my 3 loud children who don't go to bed until later. Anyone on vent had to have heard them

Couple of comments here. I play CTF alot although it is all sniper rifles only with no vehicles. Our league play is set up around it. I do notice that they had two more players than you do unless they dropped off before you could get a screenie. I know from my experiences that a one player advantage either way has a big impact on the ability to carry the flag home for a team irregardless on the extra player's skill level. I have seen one teams dominance in scoring suddenly shut down when the lower scoring team picks up an extra player in pick up games. I have never played CTF with that many players either. Seems like it would be tough to get a flag home. Probably 8 v 8 or so is the most I have played with. A large map (I am not familiar with that map so can't judge size) might make a difference with that many players though. I'd say you didn't do bad at all playing on their map and mod for the first time. GJ.

No, the players were even. I found out we had one player pinging 999 for first five minutes of first match where we lost a flag right away, but other than that we got beat by a team that had excelent players who are especially excellent on their mod. Look at the kill totals, you see it would be hard to score any flags when getting outkilled everywhere. My score in the first game wasn't flattering to me either, but I forgot to scrrenshot it...probably in disappointment.

Hats off to FKR for one hell of a game!
I would love to have another CTF scrim with these guys again, and maybe use the Barb map the next time around. Good times.
on 10 different occasions i was attacking an fkr and he lagged so bad he was disappearing and reappearing like behind me and crap,i have a brand new computer and ran at 91 fps the entire game . the 21 head shots from across the map (on Smolensk????) made me frustrated beyond belief ,as I'm sure every one else was in my shoes who got the ci message every 5 minutes . I'm not selling them short one bit because they really knew what they were doing and completly dominated us . i believe omm has finished the ctf Smolensk map on our match server,gi joe brought it up and said all was fine -if anyone who played in this match can go in and check it out and see if were missing anything it would be great ,otherwise ill do it tomorrow.
ps- hey whino i did hear your kids but we all have the same problems lol, thats my sons bed time too .the problem is we have euro players and later is like 2 or 3 am for them.we tried earlier but then no one signed up. anyone have a solution for a Saturday match??
