Sweeeeeet, I hope it has some objective based games for multiplayer. we will see.
Yop That Game looks the Don.....wanna buy it when it comes out
This looks to be the only WW2 FPS game coming this year.
Too many new FPS games are modern, COD4 included....
JIM
omg yess yess its back hopefully with some suppoert this time!!
It will probably bomb just like Pacific Assault did. The only things EA needs to do to make a bad ass game is to update the graphics, keep the same maps and maybe add a couple more, and keep the same style run and gun game play as MOH:AA. No tanks, no jeeps, no 88's, no airplanes, helicopters, just straight up run and gun, the way an FPS should be played. If I wanted to drive/fly around and kill people, I'd play Battlefield series. Add some SnD/CTF/HQ/whatever, and you will have an even more bad ass version of MOH:AA. The only maps from COD,UO,COD2 that even come close to being as good as the MOHAA maps are Cassino, Carentan, Toujane, and maybe Matmata.
EDIT: Forgot to mention built-in AC support, the reason (IMO) that MOH:AA failed.
Aren't those maps pretty big? That was what's nice about the maps I listed, they aren't that big. Despite this every map in the COD series pales in comparison to maps like Stalingrad (best map ever made) and Remagen, and really all the other maps in MOH:AA except for Snowy Park.
i just have never had the tdm/dm mentality i guess , i'm not dissing the game play at all I'm just looking for realism. since i was really young ww2 has always interested me ,the tanks ,uniforms ,everything! although Ive been a gaming addict since space invaders came out the first multi player game i played was bf1942 and for the first time lived realism to its fullest. as with cod , bf moved into modern weapons (which it already had a mod called desert storm) so i had started to play cod i imagine ill play cod4 a bit but I'm sure ill be on with the next realistic ww2 mp hopefully it ll be moh .
vehicles IMO defines ww2 battle , the vehicles changed battle from trench warfare to blitzkrieg . the realism just isn't there for me with out them.

Yep, vehicles are a part of warfare whether you are talking about WWII or today. Infantry is still the backbone of ground forces, but they are supported Heavily by rolling and tracked vehicle stock, not to mention air support.
Perhaps a civil civil war era (circa 1861-1865 American History) game would be more appropriate to those who despise vehicles. Wagons and horses, towed cannon, a few ships for the blockade of southern states, but you could overlook those mostly. LOL!
If I wanted realism I'd wouldn't be playing a game. I'm not saying vehicles are a bad thing, or that they aren't useful in real life, but not having vehicles is what made MOH:AA what it was. Heck, the game itself wasn't very realistic at all, and I think that's why it was so popular. Airborne could bring the Medal of Honor series back to something decent, if they get it right. I would bet that most of the clans who were on the OGL ladder for MOH:AA would come back, as the only reason they stopped playing was because of the hacks.
"i just have never had the tdm/dm mentality i guess"
An arcade style of play like TDM/DM doesn't take mentality. Just point & shoot.
No rhyme or reason to it, just a run & gun shoot-um-up !!

Haven't read anything about the multiplayer, but I did read this about the singleplayer:
Airborne begins with one of the lesser-known campaigns of World War II. Starting with Operation Husky, the invasion of Sicily, players will strap on the boots of a paratrooper in the legendary 82nd Airborne Division and jump out of a transport plane. As outlined in GameSpot's previous coverage, each mission will begin with a harrowing parachute jump. Other missions in the game included Operation Neptune, the airborne component of D-Day, and Operation Varsity, which saw 30,000 soldiers parachuting into Germany in the single largest military airdrop in history.

It looks like there will be alot of surprises in both game types, sp or mp. I'd get it just for the sp, the mp is a bonus imo.
www.filefront.com has just posted a 2 minute video of MOH:A
on their website. Just click where you see MOH:Airborne
Aug. 28, 2007 is the release date mentioned there also...

i think bargod had commented on the mp to look alot like cod-the question will be if theres vehicles and gametypes other than tdm.

So let me get this straight...By the looks of the trailer, we have until August 28th to get our fill of cod, and then it's on to MOHA!
Looks pretty good...can't wait!
i like that after hours were involved , im hoping they dont go all single player though. if theres no vehicles (which is most likely ) im hoping they do have some sort of objective as well as all the rest. if they dont get a good anti cheat , then screw buying it for me.
Airborne troops won't have any vehicles to start with but maybe,
just maybe you can steal them from the germans. Thats my wish
but I bet it will never happen. Oh well, just might be a good game
after all but only if they keep the "Run & Gun" kids out of it....

From the sound of everything, I believe they will include some sort of anti cheat.
They know cheating would be a detriment to the multi player aspect of the game.

Gosh I hope there is an anti-cheat. Cheats completely RUINED MoH:AA. A few weeks ago, I went into a couple of highly patrolled servers where the admins are constantly Kicking/Banning, but there is just so much cheating that the admins are overwhelmed... Black window shooting is such a common site now-a-days that it is ridiculous. Oh well, farewell MoH:AA, hello MoH:A!

Looks like MOH Airborne is not only going to have punkbuster but DMW anti-cheat as well. Here's a good recent review by Rudedog from 8-01-2007, based on actual gameplay -

I hope everthing is good to go with the patch. I was expecting
this game to be the ONE to take over for COD:UO which is getting
old by todays standards....

Very interresting.
i think ill hold off till its patched ,sounds kinda lame imo . how long has ea been making pc games now ?they didnt put anything into the mp side of the game ..at all really. the fact it sounds like there will be no support makes me wonder . consoles arent taking over ,the non gamer guys upstairs are strangling the pc gamers with crappy games and support. really discouraged

!
Yes, my PC can manage the game. I wait for my copy of the game.

I still can't wait for the game that makes the enviroment truly destructable. I want to be able to start a multiplayer map where the town/area actually looks pristine, and when we're done it looks like the burnt out/blown to pieces villages like we see in current maps. You see, I want to see *us* destroy it, not the village come pre-destroyed and we can't even move a park bench with a 40 tonne tank. The problem is that "realism" in a game continues to only mean the prettinesS of the graphics, not the interplay with the environment, and I mean more than being able to kick around an occasional paint can or garbage can. Make a map that can be blown to pieces, make it that if I shoot a house with a tank enough it'll actually fall down on one side, that wooden fences break when I drive into them, gernades blow doors off hinges when I throw them, etc. Is this a hard trick? Oh yeah, I'm sure, but it's possible but only if they stop maxing out the cpu and graphics card completely on making very pretty, but in reality lifeless environments.
OK, end rant. I still enjoyed the clip. Nice weapons sounds.
MoD, that day will come probably sooner than later. That type of
realism takes millions of lines of extra code but gaming is heading
in the right direction. Every year it gets better and better. In the
Company of Heros RTS game, we have a lot of it. In FPS games,
things are just now starting...

There are new cards coming out dedicated to physics Agia or something like that.... on the newer motherboards you not only have 2 PCI E Slots for SLI but a third for future expansions for a THIRD video card. Most likely a physics engine that will allow more of what you so desire. Now just don't bitch when you have to pay $3k or more to have a machine to play it.

I didn't see any weapon cross hairs in the video. I wonder if the game has them or if they were turned off.

That is correct. There has been no official release on this yet but heres a topic on EA about it
http://forums.ea.com/mboards/thread.jspa?s...threadID=259738DMW will be optional .If you choose to use the DMW Scanner according to that post and there site you will be paying for the different levels of support Bronze,Silver or Gold
http://dmwworld.com/

* Server Administrators are able to manually take screenshots of players
* The same cheat protection as the DMW Silver and Gold versions
http://dmwworld.com/view.php?page=viewarti...le=pressreeasesGold Accounts
When DMW first announced that the DMW3 Scanner software would be available for subscription, approximately 80 Medal of Honor clans took the step and paid a subscription for the service. These clans were then classified as DMW Gold clans in recognition of their commitment to a cheat-free gaming community.
This community of Gold Clans have helped DMW to develop the Scanner software by constantly testing the program and reporting any bugs and flaws that they find. Their requests for features to be incorporated into the Scanner have also played a key role in developing DMW3 to be the most user-friendly and functional Scanner on the market.
Subscriptions for Gold Accounts are closed and will never be re-opened.
Silver Accounts
Silver Accounts require an annual subscription fee, and can be purchased by clicking the link called Buy Scanner in the DMW World Menu. Silver Accounts allow their users to:
*
Scan multiple servers
*
Enforce a local ban list
