I made a judgement call after asking Hue G Rection to change his name. He did not respond after several requests so I kicked him for 20 minutes. It was a judgement call. Several MOB members did not agree and that's ok with me. He did not get banned so let's not get our panties in a bunch over it. Different levels of tolerance is what makes this clan well balanced. I stand by my call.
Pain
I understand how you could be upset, but Hue G. Rection is a name that in the early days of the Simpsons was tossed about liberally. If it's OK for TV it's ok for MOB.
Personally, I have a great tolerance for names and language, but I understand that others like to keep the place a little more PG.
With that in mind, I again say that if it's good enough for public TV it's good enough for our servers.
To be honest, and please, I'm not trying to start problems, but would like to state my oppinion more clearly, even the name HUGE ERECTION shouldn't be a problem. There is really nothing overtly offensive about the name. I know that some may take the name as offensive, but the Sears tower is a Huge Erection. I know that isn't what the person likely means, but it is an attempt at cleverness, not obscenity. There is probably a more scientific term of erections, but it's not like the name was Enormous Bonor or Giant Hard On. Now, I personally wouldn't do anything about either of those names, but I could understand them to be a bit more borderline. But Hue G. Rection (who I think has played our servers a long time) is not, in my humble oppinion a name that should even be considered to be questionable.
I just wanted to let everyone know where I stand on this.

I dunno, tasteless/ mmmmm, yeah, pretty sure its tatseless.
Immature? definately, but I'm not offended as it were. I would be
if my kids could read and were watching me play, but they arent that old yet.
What kind if ired me was, the other day there was a guy on another server (cant recall if it was a MOB one, as I was floating around that day) called "Kampus Kommando". Now THAT is offensive.
While that name doesn't bother me and I wouldn't have asked him/her to change it that doesn't matter.
What matters (imo) is the fact is that the admin politely asked him to change it (several times) and he didn't respect that so he risked getting kicked.
Some may argue that it's a grey area as to what is allowed or not allowed, but if an admin requests you to do something you should oblige and shouldn't be surprised if you're kicked for not doing so.

I have to agree with BG on this. Hue G. Rection has been playing on your servers for over a year now and has never caused any problems. With that note he has never to my knowledge been asked to change his name.. Just my 2 cents

I agree that the name is not offensive. Come on people we play a game of simulated death a little juvenile name is nothing. But at the same time I agree that he should have responded to Pain's request, if nothing more than to say he feels the name is not out of line and he doesn't think it shuld be changed.

My alter ego is Hugh Jardon,
that is the funny part, he spells it Hue, like the shading of a color...and THAT is what is the most offensive to me.

Flat, that avatar is distracting me quite a bit.
Why are women so fascinating?
You'd think I could get past that after 37 years. Haaaaaaa
