They've had quite a few WW2 games. I think its cool that they are changing it up a bit. Should run great on my DX10 card that I will have in a few weeks

WW2-FPS games: COD:UO, COD2,COD3
Modern FPS games: COD4, ARMA, Warfighter 1&2,BF2,2142, and on & on......

For every WW2 one, there is 5+ modern ones.

I saw quite a bit about the game on G4 T.V. from the E7 conference. It looks really cool but they have complicated the game a bit it looks like to me. Part of what makes COD great is the simplicity of it. They are adding different power ups for health/weapons etc. MOH Airborne looked REALLY promising though. Can't wait to try them both. You know they could do a whole other WWII game that actually involves the Jap's. We're up to how many now including console games that don't include half the war...

You're forgetting ^. The people that are making new games feel that the WW2 genre has pretty much been exhausted and that they will sell more copies making a game that takes place in the future where they have more creative freedom opposed to reliving the same battles from WW2 over and over again. I personally have no objections to the setting of a new game as long as the gameplay is fun and enjoyable. If you are that obsessed with a WW2 setting than I'm sure there will always be a few old COD or MOH servers up, but I think it's time for all of us to join in on the logical progression of PC FPS's and not live in the past.

So you guys are going to stick to UO till it absolutely dies huh? Not that it isn't holding hands with the Reaper now. We seriously need to be thinking what direction the clan is going to take. Don't get me wrong UO and COD2 are great fun but what is our future there? Playing Dev over and over in BAS? Playing BB and Toast over and over in COD2? I'm not saying that the games we play should be dismissed. But open up your mind enough to give these new games a chance. They show you the biggest most action packed scenes to draw attention to the game. The actual game will most likely have very little to do with being chaos all the time. Besides half of what they show is environment. Not actual fighting etc. If strategy and team work are your thing there are those game types in COD2 and I'm sure in the new games. Start a team here and I'm sure you'd have enough support to field a team. We are going to give the new MOH Airborne ( a WWII game btw) a shot. It comes out August 27th or 28th. If enough of us buy it ASAP and get on our servers it gives us a HUGE advantage with these new games competitively. So please give it an honest shot.

I'll point out the following quote from the MOB website (Recruitment page), "MOB is a gaming clan focused on competitive play in on-line multiplayer video games. We also have a general public gaming side and support multiple servers. Currently our emphasis is in the COD UO and COD2 games but we will be aggressive in moving to similar games as they emerge."

If the clan was 100% about having fun, then having the clan focus on WW2 FPS would be more viable, but since its mission is on competitive play, the games may come and go based on the current trends.

I guess my point is that I'm up for anything fun - for me gaming is a diversion and not a "serious" hobby. However, my strong preference is for WW2 FPS, so I hope that trends in competitive play and MOB's response to them continue to include that game type. On that note, I'm VERY glad to see that MOB is going to try MOH Airborne.

I agree. It took me so long to get Half-Life 2 going before I could actually play (and I bought the boxed game) I said "never again" to getting any game from Valve or Steam (unless it is something free). I'll use hacked versions of their games instead until I have no other choice. I mean, if they're going to treat you like a thief even when you legimately buy the game, then why buy the game?

If you buy a game, it should work like a charm out of the box. You should not need to verify online, or have to connect to a server to play single player. You should not have to wait for updates you don't need (since you aren't playing multiplayer). You should not have the progam load crap into you start-up so that it is always running. I have enough crap running already, I don't need Steam components clogging up my computer, or trying to monitor/verify my games.

So yeah, in other words, Steam sucks. And Valve started it. Which is why my Steam account name is "valvesuxballs".

BTW, Half-life 2 was one of the most overrated games ever IMO. It was fun while it lasted for sure, which was a 8 days for me. Then the multiplayer was just a re-make of a single gametype mod that was 5 years old that Valve didn't even make in the first place. Lazy and cheap.

I couldn't have said it any better.

Just try to remove the application and you'll see why.

Just got my Costco mag in the mail and on page 40, it says COD4 PS3 & Xbox Available Oct 17...

Too bad about PC's... hoping they will be on the self too... we'll see

im excited ! they put most of their attention to the mp side where as ea put most of their efforts to single player,this game may effect the sales of crysis.

EA has their hands all in Crysis which means unless someone tells me this is the best game of all time by miles i won't be buying it.

I got it from yahoo.... played just a min of it and it looks sweet... movement and game play look 1000 times better than MOH Airborne.... this might have promise..... looking forward to playing quite a bit more

Just played it a couple of times and here are my thoughts:

HOLY CRAP!!! This is definitly the next big FPS. The gameplay feels very similar to Cod2 which is something us Cod2 guys will certainly enjoy. Even though it feels the same, this is hardly an expansion. LOADS of new stuff - weapons, nightvision, laser scopes, this game is gonna be everything Cod2 wasn't. Even though its only a single player demo, I expect improved movement/weapon tweaks (like in Cod2) for the multiplayer. I believe we have a keeper.

All I can say is HOLY S##T ..this is awesome ,althought I feel Muti might be as good as theres alot of action going on ,so I wouldn`t be surprised if they tone it down some.....but if they do I reckon it will still be awesome.

Wow, what a demo!!! This is one SWEEEEEET game!!! Definitely a must buy.

BTW, I'm running a single-processor Athlon rig (2.8Ghz), 1 gig of RAM, and the 8600GTS card, and it was smooth as glass.

The only thing I changed in the setup was "aim down the sites," and "sprint" otherwise, I didn't have to touch a thing.

I found a problem with the demo ... its not long enough!

Great game - Like to see a BAS MP scenario.

If they get the multiplayer right, this will be a keeper. The single player demo is awesome. Just make sure you know how to duck and run because the weapons in the demo are as powerful as the dragunov.
