Exposure: 4 seconds at F/2.8, 200mm, VR off, ISO 800

I had forgotten about the lunar eclipse until my wife saw it out the window. There was no time to set up the big telescope so I just used the tripod and took some random shots. Earlier I had thought about taking some shots but had calculated that it was going to be too low. You can see that it was not far away from the tree line.

Also, isn't there some apocolyptic story about the moon turning blood red?

Mike really knew it was coming ,as he was starting to go all hairy and had aliking for some virgin blood.......quite strange

By the way, I sent the lunar eclipse picture to one of our local TV stations and they featured it during the news. One of the news reporters questioned if it was real so I sent an email with details on the processing used and a link to my previous astrophotography photos. He retracted his statements on air today.
