I had hopes that this game would be a savior to us, but ahhhh, I doubt it. The single player could be fun, but the multiplayer really sounds like it is is pure standard fare. Not much more than an afterthought. I mean really, two deathmatch types and a CTF. That's it. And not even really ready out-of-the-box.

Not to mention that it was to be "available" today. Now it appears that if they so deem it to be so we MIGHT get it tomorrow. They are running a tight ship over there I tell ya. The more I played the single player the better COD4 is looking to me as well. I'm ready for this to bomb and move on out of the way now. I hate to say that as I was beyond excited but looks like they couldn't have done this any more wrong.

besides the gameplay issues ,which i wasnt to hurt over because i dont think ba is ever going to comeback. it wouldve been just like cnq or domination and its still objective oriented and not to mention ,it wouldve been something new.

what ticks me off is this, we have come to this level of gaming ,graphics ,speed and gameplay and the game makers seem to make every boneheaded decision known to man. der, lets make a new game but put all our efforts into the single player even though %90 of our buyers are mp players and then we will act like we didnt know everyone wanted the mp huh.gif .we can tell them we will patch it a month later.

cod4 is going to be a break through game and totally take over the market for sure BUT its not a ww2 game and for me thats important. instead of everyone saying that ww2 games are old and tired -i would like to see someone put some effort into making a decent one.im very disapointed sad.gif .

Found this for you Steel on one of the message boards...

Q: Will weapon upgrades be available in multiplayer?
A: Yes. In unranked games (PC and Xbox360), you can play with all of the weapon upgrades turned on, or all turned off. In ranked games (Xbox360), you’ll earn the upgrades the way you would in single player – by using the weapon skillfully. The difference in multiplayer though is that you upgrade a weapon class instead of just a weapon. That way, if you’ve fully upgraded your Thompson, but want to play on the Axis team for a while, you won’t have to upgrade your MP40. It will be at the same upgrade level as the Thompson you were using. This should give players some more freedom in choosing which team to play and make team balancing easier.

Answers the ranked server question I think..

I found this post on another forum about the MOH:A MP option:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"The port from the console to the PC messed the MP piece up for the PC. There is no dedicated server support out of the box, so everyone is at the mercy of little Billy's PC and all the other fun stuff inherent with listen servers.

Fret not, for EA have promised us dedicated servers out of the box at launch. Excellent right? Well, no not really. It turns out they then retracted this statement but promised a patch to rectify this on day one of launch instead. Great news ... oh, but wait, that day has come and gone. Hm, well that's OK as they have a new promise, and one which they promise to keep this time, honest!

[Insert drumroll here]

The latest EA promise is a patch to rectify this and other bugs the week of Sept 17th (most are hopeful they mean 2007).

Perhaps I shouldn't sound so cynical, but fiascos like this really make me wonder who the heck is at the helm on this project over at EA. I realize the PC platform develpment typically takes a back seat to consoles when there's a multi-platform release, but c'mon."
