I have been so ecited I started back up with the friggin warlock again... playing real guitar poorly is not a substitute for gh3....70 songs.... attacks on other players.... and slash...

It looks sweet... and let's not forget downloads for new songs for PS this time. Sweet. This is going to sell twice the number the others have I bet. Can't wait.

I'd rather play real guitar but this one does looks promising. If there was a way I could run the sound through my 4x12" speaker cab then I might buy it

may sound stupid but what is guitar hero?i have been playing guitar since i was about 14 an i was wondering.

Only the most addictive video game in the history of man. It gives people like me who can't play guitar the chance to jam along to some of our favorite songs. Looks a bit silly to lots of people (me too to be honest) but once ppl try it they are hooked. Like video crack. My hand is cramped horribly from playing all day. This is the best one by far. I'm still not great at it but almost done with Hard. Currently fighting through the cramps to try and finish Knights of Cydonia. Good grief... I like the Battle with Tom and Slash but my goodness are they hard. Can't imagine how hard Lou is going to be. I'm guessing impossible. Song list is amazing this time. Making up for the last one IMO.

I watch my kids (23, 21 and 17) play this game for hours and come out of their rooms soaked with sweat and complaining about the cramps... but they are awesome... never tried it myself though... more fun to watch others play.... and better than them knocking over a liquor store...LOL

Ive been an avid acoustic guitarist for about 7 years. I can play and sing and do all that fun stuff. But beginning with guitar hero 1, the original, Bark at the Moon changed the face of the game. "Bark at the Moon on Expert" was like becoming a god, which I have not done yet. For those of you that want to compare the game to reality, they differ greatly, just like any game. One is a simulation, one is reality. I personally could not play "play with me" by extreme But on GH 80s, I can pretend to. Kind of like pretending to shoot Geno with a gun in a game....

I got it for my daughter today ,and the wife cann`t stop playing it ( which is good ,as she leaves me alone )

ill probably get it soon, i have been playing real guitar for about 13 yrs now and i find it much easier than guitar hero but its still fun.

Ha most of you have a hard enough time shooting me with a gun in a game. Glad you can't do it in real life as I'm sure I'd have a few lined up willing to take the shot. I have zero musical ability. Can't even play the kazoo or gazoo(sp?) whatever it is. But I can push buttons pretty fast so I'm decent though no god. Expert stops me before BATM. I'm doing good to make it 30% through that one. It's insane. I can't fathom moving my hand that fast.

Showed my son ( the oldest) the post and the next thing I knew he was upstairs playing it... when I asked him where he got it and when... he said he went right out , bought it, brought it home and he and his friend were jamming for hours...LOL

My fingers hurt bad enough from CTF Rifles... no way I am doing that to my hands... OUCH!!!!

I have to say this one is more difficult than the previous releases. I think in the other 3 releases there was only BATM and one other song I could not do on the0 hard difficulty. There are at least 7 on this one I can't manage to beat yet. The last section of songs is insane. I haven't even looked at expert yet but I can't imagine being able to read the notes fast enough to even process what they are yet alone make my hand respond to what I saw. I see these kids on youtube 5 start these things on expert. I think I'd have to see someone do it right in front of me to believe it though.

I hear the new game Rock Band is going to give it run for it's money. From what I've seen, you get a mic, drums, and two guitars w/the game... looks pretty sweet. Apparently, Activision bought Red Octane and made GH3, which pushed Harmonix out of the picture. So Mtv got with Harmonix to make Rock Band. They will offer songs by Metallica, which I"m sure will be a seller. I have yet to play GH3, but it sounds better than the first two titles which I was hooked on pretty bad.

Picked up the game yesterday. Anyone else think the hammer-ons/pull-offs were easier in this one? I thought the songs on hard were pretty easy until I got to the last set. The Slayer and Metallica songs took me a while to get. At one point I was ready to break my guitar I was so pissed. All I have left to do now for hard is beat that damn Lou guy.

As far as the songs go, I'm kind of so-so on that. I thought the bonus songs were better in the second, but you can't beat songs like "Rock You Like A Hurricane", "LaGrange", "One", and "Welcome to the Jungle". My favorite song so far is "Cult of Personality" by Living Colour. The solo for that is just fun to play.
