i cant help thinking if you had the same graphics and gameplay in a ww2 setting ,it would be really cool.the fact theres alot more access to buildings ,behind buildings and inside blown up vehicles etc,i find my self thinking of the setting in saving private ryan (the end) and how cool it would be to be in and out of the buildings ,having tanks etc... i dont think ww2 is over done ,i think it has been overdone badly.if someone put these graphics into the ww2 setting ,it would sell .

To me it's not about MW or WW2. To me it's about the multiplayer-gameplay. COD:UO Bas is unique i my opinion. The "run-and-gun" TDM style is not. Every FPS game has it covered. But obviously there must be a great hunger for these games in the market since the developers still are making new versions. Same shit - new wrapping if you ask me.
ANOTHER PATCH ????
YES, you heard me, there is yet another new patch 1.3 out for
COD4. Must be something terribly wrong to require this many patches in
so many days. Infinity Ward, lets get the patch the gets those postage
stamp run-n-gun maps 10x larger so the players can have some drivable vehicles. Until that happens, COD:UO is still the best in my opinion.....

i think the gameplay for cod 4 is fantastic! no where near a run and gun,if you dont aim you may not hit it.theres nothing wrong with seeing patches, theres always patches-the fact theyve come in a timely manner is a plus in my book. the game is great.
EA really screwed up IMHO .they had the chance to make a cool ww2 game and they basicly ripped off every one blatantly,it def has effected their sales of crysis and as geno stated before "crysis would have to be the game of the year for me to buy it" is how i feel as well and for any EA game in the future.

I won't buy another EA game unless everyone here is playing it first... as for the patches they are actually taking the time to fix very minor issues. The sniper rifle fix they just released wasn't really that bad just required you take enough time to line it up. I honestly have not seen anything yet that just jumped out at me that said "They have to fix this or the game is ruined". There is a lot more to these games than "run and gun" and TDM. The most popular game type for COD2 and COD4 is S&D which is the exact opposite of run and gun.... There is a place for some larger maps but only if you want to increase the number of people that can comfortably play at once. For 4v4 up to 7v7 most of the maps are just right IMO.

MOH Airborne left me very bitter.
The quality of the COD games is on another level. Easy to play. Easy to admin.
Just a joy.
Yes, it's a lot of patches in a short time. I think it is good that they are so proactive. IW is basically embarassing EA. Its like the NFL playing a high school team.

Call of duty 47 is coming out sooner than you think too... Rumors of potato guns, rocks, sticks, wedgies, wet willies, rear admirals, and trashcan lids... COD47 Backyard Warfare...

HAHAHA potato guns... Those are darn fun! I don't know what a rear admiral is... and not sure I want too.
The patches are typically fixes that weren't fixed in an effort to meet the advertised release date, or problems found with 100,000 people banging away in multiplayer situations. This is both expected and planned for!
COD 5 will surely be worth the wait.
The fact that these patches are getting out to the community quickly making it a more stable and fun game to play. So, who cares, and good work Activision or whoever.

Well I also heard that another studio was working on Call of Duty 6, and that one goes back to its root, that is World War 2 theme... and that both Call of Duty 5&6 are supposed to be released at same time... I hope they return to roots, and add a BAS Multipleyer type game, because the inability to blow you away from across the map in a tanks sucks!

I just hope they don't get into the future warfare crap with lasers and all that crap, imo those games suck

I dunno about this one... wish Activision would just stick with Inifinity Ward for the Call of Duty series. As much as I love the WWII games, I'm just worried they're maybe a bit played out. CoD3 was bad. Just real bad.
Couple things sound good tho:
1) Co-op.
2) Vehicles in multiplayer

I think the one thing that might save this from being over played (WWII that is) is that they are basing it in the Pacific. The only one I can think of is MOH and it was terrible. So this aspect isn't overdone yet....I still play cod2 a good bit even though we're kicking along in cod4. There's just something about using a rifle that appeals to me. I play rifles in UO once in a while as well just for that same type of game. I don't get why so many of the UO guys just absolutely hated cod2. Minus the vehicles the actual game play is very similar IMO.
Geno, last night I found a COD4 version of Toujane.
It was cool.

botttom line is this, ww2 sells games ,theres a wide range of age groups that will be loyal and play it to the end..........but........no pacific theatre game has ever been good in my opinion,bf sucked ,moh sucked etc.. the whole time i was playing cod4 i was at awe about how cool it would be to have the same maps but ww2 city style ,with tanks ,it reeeallly reminded me of private ryan but in middle east.screw jeeps but have a half tracks in there and yes ,ill here flak for it for suposed to be a shooter but when u/o first came out i remember playing berlin, kharkov and casino -all had tanks and were completely vulnerable, if you didnt know what your doing you were smoked often.
i want no 88s , i want narrow alleys where tanks get stuck,i want it to take time for a tanker to get out of a tank and have blind spots mixed with a blown out city .hell ,if its russians against germans in berlin i want germs to have woman old men and kids fighting, not soldiers. i would like to see an authentic african ww2 campaign and that would mean tanks kids ,that would also mean planes.i WOULD LOVE TO SEE AN OMAHA BEACH whole normandy remake.
cod cannot do a pacific theatre because most of the battles were air and sea -island hopping.bf was the only one to do land sea and air and i still hated it.

What is co-op?
CO-OP = Semi-Multiplayer (one side is all human players while the other side is the AI guys.
Sort of like single player but with more guys/gals (human) playing with you.
A straight multiplayer has to have balance so both sides are equal whereas
co-op multiplayer does not. The AI side can have pickable (by the server)
modes of easy, normal, hard, etc. I hope that answers your question !!
