Yea... It was some dumbass spammer. He ran a script to send an PM to everyone with a link to some Russian porn site. I deleted the PM from everyone's box.
I must say it was very interesting to see how many people returned to this site years later after receiving the email today. I saw several on today which hadn't been on since the 2003-2004 time range.
