In our never ending quest to be a leading edge clan I want to propose something for everyone to kick around and give me some feedback on. I am ready to do a one night tournament on MOB #2 and here is what I have come up with so far.

1) First 16 people to sign up are in (no MOB sorry...)
2) All people will join passworded server at designated match time along with 2 MOB to run the server and observe.
3) Numbers will be drawn at random (right at the start of the match) to pair up the 16 in to 8 teams of 2.
4) I will load a small map ideal for 4 players that will be broadcast ahead of time and loaded on the server.
5) The 8 teams will play 5 minute matches through a double elimination tournament until one team wins.

I believe this would be fun and could also help us as a recruiting tool since we could sift through some folks and find out who is good. In such a small setting, a persons skills will be really challenged.

Ok that's all I have on it and would like some comments and suggestions form you guys so I can tweak it and get it started.

I would need somewhere on the website for people to sign up and get tournament information (not sure how to best do this Real Deal) as well as 2 MOB peeps that would be interested in burning a night to just sit and observe.

that to me sounds like a great idea...if there's anything I can do that requires a person with absolutly no computer skills let me know

I will help out in any way I can.
One thing you will need to do is come up with a well thought out list of rules. Otherwise it will turn into a complete mess.
One rule I would make if I was you, is a camping limit or no hiding rule.
A very common tatic in 2vs2, is soon as one team takes a lead by a few kills. They run and hide to try and run out the clock. You could make a one minute camping rule which would make either team advance or withdraw from an area after a minute. You will have to be very specific, otherwise people will consider moving around in the same room as not camping.
It will be easy to enforce if the match is played with a admin present.

Just something to think about.

We could have the people email one of us to sign up. As far as tournament info, we can add something to the site no problem. Let me know what you want.....

Great point Druid, these are the comments I need. One thought that occurred to me is I will need to allow people to sign up as a team and keep it from being random. I don't want people bitching because their team mate sucked or the guy drops off in the middle of the game so I think I will let people sign up together.

Another though would be to have an MOB only tournament just to work out the bugs and have some fun. How about it guys, want to pair up in to 8 teams of 2 and duke it out one night? This could help me get the format right and let you do a little chest bumping at the same time.

Lastly I thought about a clan 2 on 2 and really advertise it. Maybe 2 MOB teams and the best 2 players from 6 other clans..... Thoughts??????????

Not for me, the play on a 2vs2 is way to slow for me.

I would definately let people sign up as a team. I would also recommend that each team have a spare player in mind , in case one player cant make it at the last minute.

I WOULD LOVE TO BE ON 2 VS.2 MATCH BUT THE MAPS WOULD HAVE TO BE SMALL OR ELSE IT CAN GET PRETTY SLOW...

Yes I would not even think of using stock maps for this since they are all way to big and the action would be really slow. I have three or four small maps that I am looking at right now and would want to pick from that group.These are maps that are good for 4 to 6 players yet have good cover and multilpe entry points. Why don't you guys who want to participate start pairiing up and I will let everyone know which maps we will use so you can download them. I would like to set this up for next week if possible.

Make up a pack of the maps your thinking about. Then after I see them I will know if I would be interested.

ok guys... there is a new map pack on the downloads section called small maps. There are 4 maps here that we could use so you can download the pack and start looking at them. I would like to have teams picked by in the next 3 days so we can see who else I need to get involved and pick a date. Not sure how to do this and maybe Real deal or Druid have a suggestion but I would like to get started on this ASAP. Thanks

FK- I checked out the maps.
2 were good 2 weren't
Russia- Its small but full of hallways, 4 people will end up running around in circles trying to find someone to shoot.
Draw- This one is almost to small, 6 little buildings and not one you can enter.

I went to look on aa.com for a replacement map. Unfortunately filefronts database seems to be either messed up or down. Any maps older than a few months cant be downloaded.

May I suggest a map called AFTERMATH I've played this aganist my son-in-law and a couple of friends and it was ok for us

I hope this is the correct place to sign up for the 2 on 2 tournament, if so count me in but I need a partner, any takers??
