The reason I decided to post this video is because while it seems our entire country is totally wrapped up in how we allegedly "tortured" some Iraqi prisoners. TORTURE they call it... can you beleive it? Apprehending an Iraqi soldier that was just shooting at one of our service men or just blew up a convoy and after aprehension, we make him parade around in woman's panties, or walk naked, or attach FAKE electrical wires to him or pile their naked bodies up... this they call torture? For this, the country is outraged.

As some of you may know, one of my sons serves in the military. He is
still stateside, here in California. He called me yesterday to let me
know how warm and welcoming people were to him, and his troops, everywhere
he goes, telling me how people shake their hands, and thank them for being
willing to serve, and fight, for not only our own freedoms but so that

But he also told me about an incident in the grocery store he stopped at
yesterday, on his way home from the base. He said that ahead of several
people in front of him stood a woman dressed in a burkha. He said when she
got to the cashier she loudly remarked about the US flag lapel pin the
cashier wore on her smock.

The cashier reached up and touched the pin, and said proudly, "yes, I
always wear it."

The woman in the burkha then asked the cashier when she was going to stop
bombing her countrymen, explaining that she was Iraqi.

A gentleman standing behind my son stepped forward, putting his arm
around my son's shoulders, and nodding towards my son, said in a calm and
gentle voice to the Iraqi woman: "Lady, hundreds of thousands of men and
women like this young man have fought and died so that you could stand here,
in MY country and accuse a check-out cashier of bombing your Countrymen. It
is my belief that had you been this outspoken in YOUR OWN country we
wouldn't need to be there today. But, hey, if you have now learned how to
speak out so loudly and clearly I'll gladly pay your way back to Iraq so you

I saw this video last night and it was as shocking as anything can be. Very very sad that both incidents happened and that the US has lost so much support for the Iraq war. Maybe this new video seals Bush's re-election, maybe not (Personally I'm surprised Rumsfeld hasn't been relieved for not coming out with the abuse story, even if its not torture Real). I'm not sure what everybody else expected after the "abuse scandal" was released to the worldwide audience but this was sthg along the lines of what I thought was inevitable. It seems an eye for an eye, although not nearly of the same degree, has already been enacted here.

I agree, Islam is by nature a very peaceful religion, just like Christianity is, but it is the nutcases and extremists in every society that take these religions and their messages out of context, twist them to their own ideas, and commit horrible acts. It's the same in our own culture, white supremacists or other racists who back up their despicable ideas with the lord's name. I have several friends who are islamic just because I go to a very diverse school and the terrorist acts disgust them even more than us because they are being misrepresented and persecuted in turn.

It is likely the murders of this man are Syrian, Saudi, etc. Not all of these scum are just Iraqi. I expected to see instances like this after the so called prisoner abuse. I believe the pics of the woman holding the leash to the Iraq and some of the other pics started off as a joke between soldiers, but arabs view it in a much different manner, and it was a excuse to breed more hate towards the colition trying to restore order and rebuild Iraq.

Because of it, one Iraqi cleric offered $350.00 for any soldier captured and any woman soldier captured would be a slave, with also rewards for soldiers killed, and this was in the British controlled area of Iraq, not the US area (Per MSN update) The people involved should had thought twice about taking those types of pictures, because now all colition forces are involved in more repercussions, including civilian contractors, which will go beyond just kidnapping as we see here.

Again the media adds fuel to the fire by publicising it, they never learned from Vietnam that they aided the enemy again are doing it once more in the same exact way today with emphasizing on negative reports about this ongoing war.

Be reminded that the enemy loves exposure and attention, and that posting this video is just what they want everyone to do. Read an interesting article the other week where they had interviewed an Iraqi soldier who deserted and was captured by US forces.

The guy had nothing against Americans or non-muslims (had never even seen an American before the war) but he was ordered to fight or "bad things" would happen to his family.

This was a while back when Saddam was still running things, but it made me stop and think.

Don't get me wrong, I think both the recent atrocities have been terrible, but I just wanted to share a different perspective.

I have seen the video and I can respect why some of you here were upset by it or don't even want to watch it at all. NO ONE is a pussy for being emotional upon viewing it. It is sick sad thing. With that said, I have purposely withheld my comments from this thread; however, there have been a few comments that have compelled me to write.

First, well said Stone. The points you brought up are right on the money. I do not know what drives the media to be such asses about this war. Bottom line, there is little unity in the media and I would venture that the mainstream media viewpoints make up a small minority of the American public.

Second, I understand that this video, 9-11, as well as any other terroristic act, brings up strong emotions, even to the point of lashing out against the entire race of Arabs and/or Muslims, however, I firmly believe that not all are barbaric such as those we saw on this video, or responsible for 9-11 and other terrorism acts. I believe that it is a minority that pushes these violent extremes. On a related note, I have a good friend that is Muslim, and a DEVOTE one at that. He has lived in the U.S. for a number of years but is travels often and is deeply rooted to his Middle Eastern ties. He is a mountain of a man. Upon the aftermath of the 9-11 tragedy, he openly wept like a little baby. One, for all the people whom died and the destruction caused, and two because he realized that his religion had just digressed a good 50 years. I believe that this man portrays what Islam truly is.

Third, there have been several comments suggesting annihilation of the entire race. While I can understand these comments, (I don't condone them, nor do I condone anyone who makes them) I don't aggree with them. I just feel it necessary to warn of the danger in allowing unsubstantiated, emotion based skepticism in making a generalization to an entire race. I point out that it was similar generalization that that led to the holocaust in which millions of Jews were villanized, captured, tortured, and exterminated. Don’t get me wrong, I would love for those terrorists in the video and any other terrorists to have their balls cut of with a plastic butter knife, killed, and then allowed to rot in hell. They deserve it! But then again, the fact that the United States as sovereign nation does not believe in this barbarism sets us apart, makes us great, and allows us not to fall to the level such as these Mongols have. In all truthfulness, the holocaust was one of the lowest points for all of mankind. I think it is absolutely disheartening to think we may ever have another one.

Last, although disturbing, I feel that everyone should watch this video however despicable it may be. I say put it on the news and show it in the schools. Everyone should know what we are fighting against and what is out there in the world that threatens our very essence of life…FREEDOM. I feel that as these images come out, we shield them as to not disturb or allow our minds to know of the truth beyond great America’s borders. I feel that, many times, we allow ourselves to live in a bubble and that we allow ourselves to ignore that thought that anything bad might ever happen to any of us. ( When I say we or us as used in the aforementioned sentence, I make reference to the United States population in general.) Truth is that the freedom we all enjoy comes and has come to us at a high price. It is high time that we all realize this. All of us have heard the phrase “”freedom is not free” yet few of us fully understand nor appreciate it for what is signifies. If you want to know what it means, ask the dude that is charging head first into a mosque that is suspect of housing radical Islamic scum such as seen in the video, better yet, find a Veterans Affairs hospital and visit for a day. There you will find the those individuals STILL trying to recover from the wars that have been fought to “pay” for my and your freedom. Even then, you still won’t fully understand it.
