Wtf does PWN stand for?! The first time I saw it I thought it was a mis-type of OWN. I know this post screams noob, but I just can't take the pressure any more. Tell me wtf it means!

PWN comes from Warcraft. Every time the computer beat you it would say "You were pwned by the computer!" This wasn't intentional it was a typo on the programmers part. P and O are right next to eachother on the keyboard after all. After that it spread like the word w00t from pso.

This is a little late, but, here is a complete and total description of PWN.
PWN: V,N,adj,adv.: To 0wnz0r something beyond all reasonable limits, to such an extent that neither the letter o or the number zero can properly express the ownage, and one is forced to use the letter p.
PWN was actually the result of a RTS game that you may be familiar with, given its extreme popularity, called Warcraft. In the game, when you died or something, a message flashed that said "You were Owned". However, the programmer who programmed this message, misspelled OWN, and wrote PWN instead. So, PWN became this like MEGA ULTRA AWESOME thing to use in the world of the 1337 language. It was HIGHLY popularized on the Gamefaqs.com Message boards, and well, it has prety much spread everywhere.
Bargod, if you want to leanr more about 1337 5p34|<, which is the language that includes such exspressions as LOL, and BRB, then seach on google for 1337. Also, google has an interface in one of its languages that is actualy in 1337, called H4x0r
