I've downloaded the new maps; I'm ready to check them out, but I can't get the server connected.

Check the name of the map pack file you downloaded. It must be named zzz_ce_maps.pk3 and NOT zzz_ce_maps.pk3.zip

If it has the .zip extension then rename the file. Also, make sure you placed the map pack in the correct directory:
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\main

Yep, I did that part right. When I launch the IP address, it never connects to the server.

When did you download the map packs? They were updated today. Take a look at THIS POST

Got the latest stuff now. When I launch the IP address it pauses for a moment and the sends me back to the first room where you must then re-enter the room for choosing multiplayer. I tried to go to the forums, server info, GII and connect from there: no luck either. I noticed that the server displayed 0/25 players. Could others be having the same problem I'm having?

Hmmm.. still sounds like the maps are on the wrong directory. Did you delete the older map pack?

Do this:
Try to connect to the server. When you get kicked back to the main menu hit the ~ key and take a screenshot of what it says and post it here.

This is the last page of the ~. There is an error listed. I put the new map folder in the Main folder. Real Deal, I'm pretty sure I did it right. I did the same thing when I placed the AK-47 in there. I'm pretty good with computers, but I never rule out the fact that I could be a dumbass. I guess you guys know that already!

Real Deal,

As a test, I helped Bardot with the new map setup. She was able to connect the first time. I guess that means that the problem is with my computer. However, I can connect to other servers, including MOB I which I played on tonight. Hope Cypher isn't mad, because I wasn't using Miss. I hope he understands that I was troubleshooting this problem, but after I got in I wanted to fight. I just couldn't help it. He whupped me anyway!.

It looks like the file isn't inside the MOHAA/main directory.
Double check and make sure you saved the file to the correct directory.
The default is C:\program files\ ea games\mohaa\main

It's in the right folder. I'm sure of that. What did Larry mean about re-installing? Was he talking about the MOH program?

Still can't get in. Could this have anything to do with the XP extractor program? When I helped Bardot, she used Winzip. She connected without a problem. Ramos also connected. I'm really feeling left out here. I guess it doesn't make much sense about which program is used to extract.

Now, is the *.pk3 a folder? Mine is. Just searching for a clue.

Do not extract the file.

The file name is zzz_ce_maps.pk3. That file must be placed in your MOHAA\MAIN directory.

If the file you downloaded is named zzz_ce_maps.pk3.zip, (Sometimes this happens when downloaded) then just rename the file to zzz_ce_maps.pk3 and place it in the directory.

Again, No extracting is necessary.

Well, I couldn't rename the *.zip so I just placed the zip file in the Main directory and, guess what?, it worked. Although the first time I went in I couldn't move, and I couldn't get anything to work when I hit the Esc key, so I had to hard kill the game. It seems to work. The second time I went in, I had the misfortune to run into Nasty Nate. Ouch!

Like Druid says in GF2 above:

Download the map pack.

If the downloaded file is a *.zip, then rename it to *.pk3 (I had to move the file from the Desktop before I could rename it).

Place the file in the correct directory ("Main," the complete path is listed above, q.v.).

Start the game and enjoy!
