Just damn! I can't believe what I just saw. Looked like a "no motion offense" that last play of the game. Did they even have a play?
While not an everyday thing, two sport athletes are not all that uncommon. I believe Ronald Curry did it for UNC just a couple of years ago. We at FSU had Charlie Ward who won the Heisman Trophy and National Championship while also Leading the ACC in steals and Taking FSU to the Elite Eight in the same season. I believe back in the day, Dieon Sanders lettered in Football, Basketball and track in the same season at FSU while Warrick Dunn was part of the National Championship 400 meter relay team at FSU while playing football as well.
It is my personal opinion that allowing the athletes to compete in multiple sports helps keep the kids out of trouble and can only help yourt recruiting.

post game reports are that ray was supposed to find rashad but rashad was 2 teamed so ray, instead of taking the open shot, found option 2 which was a dish to noel who would dish to sean may inside....
problem was that a dook player slapped the ball out of noels hand and out of bounds with no time left.

a 1 point loss to dook @ dook isnt so bad because on march 6 we play them again @ UNC. most fans i know combine the 2 games each year to see who is best. we loss by 1 at their home so i figure if we win by 2 at UNC, we're the better team.

this year, we have jesse "hotpocket" holley. he doesnt get much play time at basketball though. AND we have david noel who was recruited and scholarshipped for football but eventually quit football and received a basketball scholarship and now only plays for UNC basketball.
lastly, i hate this, but UNC could have a 2 game loss streak because on saturday we play a very good Uconn team @ UCONN. anytime you play away you have a better than not chance of losing.

yeah future, the play was that Felton was supposed to dish it to McCants, who was to come off a pick and be open for a 3. They use this play a lot in pressure situations, best executed in UNC's last second win over UCONN last year (great freakin game). Reddick knew his shit though and came off the pick to guard McCants at the arch. And then with this look gone, they were able to put some major pressure on Noel. It was outstaanding defense.

the thing is, rock, rashad was merely 1st option. on that play, rashad is coming off a screen from sean which, in theory could easily open sean up as well. but willaims covered sean as redick ran through the screen. now, there is option 3 and that is a pass to noel and into marvin. that is the only option ray had with 4 seconds left. the pass was made but a dook player defended very well and knocked it off a heel and out of bounds ending thegame.
