Full Version: New Video Card
I got a new video card. Does anyone know how to display the framerate? Also what do you know about this command: set com_maxfps 120?

fps_1 for on, fps_0 for off. clueless about the second one.
com_maxfps..... I honestly don't know if that does any good but may make you feel better.
I entered fps_1 but still no display. Am I doing something wrong?

when you have your framerate display up it shows (obviously) you fps. this command sets your max fps to 120, you can use any number, but if you dont have many cooling fans in your system do get it too high. I set mine to 300 i think
Well, i have mine at 999, don't put it at infinite ( 0 ) because for some reason missionary and reverend catch it. I put mine at 900 or 999 i don't think it makes a huge difference from 300, but i have gotten to 400+ with my vid card, so i don't know. Try it out and keep it at whatever, i know if definitly helps though.

I melted my ATI 9800XT. It's a sick smell, as the room fills with burned electronics. I'm now running the nvidia 9800 Ultra.

Ok, got it to work. Set my maxfps to 800. Dang, I have to go to work; got to go to bed soon, but tomorrow is the beginning of SPRING BREAK! Yea! Get ready to fight ML.

what kind of vid cards do everyone have? i have a vanilla 6800 modded to GT, only costs me $200 in the first place.

ati 7500 i get fucked up fps rate. i get like 6-30. i dont get it.... how the hell do you get 100+fps rate? next mac is gonna have a better card, probally buy a tower. 
I've got an ATI Radeon X800XT, I've had frame rates of 750+ .

thats what i wanted but i had to just get the OC in staed of the ultra, cuz of how much more the ultra costs
Like I said earlier, building a fast computer is not cheap, but it sure makes a difference!
