That post was not flaming Diesel. We obviously have a difference of what a clan is for. I dont think it is for purely winning competitions and ladders, that is the least of my concern. I think it is for fun. Its a video game, not a professional sport. Thats what I meant.

Not trying to add any fuel to flames or sparks even. But video gaming is becoming a professional sport more and more everyday. Just watch for it and you'll see it. : P Maybe not MoH:AA but it's out there.

fishing is a sport, racket ball, football, boxing, etc....

I go to the gym regularly and I practice Akido and Ju-Jitsu twice a week. I work 50 hours a week and I goto college(chemistry&biology major, more chemistry than biology so far) full-time. I'm no T.O. but I don't consider myself to be lazy in the least. As long as society continues to make technological advances our language will continue to evolve and that includes word meanings. Sport has evolved a lot in the last 30 years and it now encompasses more than just baseball, football and basketball. As long as there is competition in video games, it will be considered a sport.

yea i disagree about the lazy part. I work 40hrs a week, gym 5 days a week, train 2 people during the week. Full time college student. Athletic Science/training major. w00t.

Really? what defines us as lazy is the effort involved. this is a hobby and a past-time. you blurr the lines of sport and past-time.
example-hunting, people call it a sport. its not. sitting around and waiting for a deer to come by and shoot it with a piece of technological equipment. now we talk of hunting over the internet. become less of a hobbie and more of a joke. golf is more of a sport then hunting. but video games are not a sport, sitting your ass on a chair and staring at the screen is not a sport. there is no physical ability involved. and i know your thinking reaction time is a physical ability. well reaction time is also limited to the speed of your internet and the lag comming in as well.

i am glad to hear that you take care of yourself, and come on akido is not hard to learn, very passive form of self-defense. ju-jitsu i have never tryed. none of us are really lazy, remember what sport is not what you need it to be.

try looking at it this way:
think of sports- you might imagine a football player or hockey. shit might be golf, who knows! but it involves strength and endurance, power and exceeding your own might.

now think of playing a video game- i think of PS2 and xbox, sitting here staring at a screen not moving but being totally involved.

now show me the sport in gaming? its lazy, as in a fun relaxing and entertaining.
