Was wondering if we had the resources to get another COD2 server running with different gametypes like CTF, S&D and Headquarters rather than just a run and gun server????

i think we would have to shut down on of the UO servers. plus i dont think ctf would be popular. i would like to see some of the other game types tho

I think it would too. Why update one of the UO servers to COD2 and rotate the type of map on a weekly basis?

I like CTF, and you dont even have to make it a lot of slots. I know I enjoy a ctf server or 14-20 people, just because it makes it better for practicing. It becomes less of a run and gun and more of a strat with team. <-- I suggest have voice on it though.

ctf pubs should be limited to about 10v10 at the most.. after that its just tdm with people capping sometimes

Yup 10 V 10 is perfect....yeah I hate when people just start flag camping!!!!

The box we rent is pretty much maxed out when all the current servers are full.
We would have to close one of the other server to run something else.
I imagine at some point we will probably do this, but I would rather wait at least until PB is added to COD2

PB or not for now it would still be played as does our TDM server. Could some of the other server connections be lowered to add a 16 - 20 connection multi game map?

The COD UO barb maps are great, have been busy everynight...packed. People keep commenting how they have so much fun playing on these servers. Everyone gets along and there is alot of fun and postitive chat between all. Which brings people to our forums.

I personally believe that if anything is changed it should be the COD2 server, and I think we should wait until PB comes out. Is there any dates set for this???

Well...if you want to make a change to the COD2 map to CTF, or something with more objectives, change the game at hand. PB is not out yet, and it would be nice to get feedback on that game. We already know that the Barb and Stock maps are great and there is alot of activity.

If they want to change COD2 from TDM to CTF, you change that server and get feedback.

Just my opinion.

I think we should change the no time limit Barb.Hardly any of us play on that.So we are paying for a server for others to enjoy and not us.Just a thought.

I just don't enjoy playing on our COD2 server at this time. I found a few others that are more at my level (low-lol) and this gives me the opportunity to try out different guns and different techniques. I may play on our server from time to time, but I tend to get frustrated and dislike the game. I know it's different for you as you are a great player. I like barb more, due to the objectives. My son the cudakid hates barb and gets bored, he loves TDM on COD2.

you should try CTF. you might like guarding the flag. gives you an excuse to camp =-P
youd probably like defense on SD too.

I love CTF....I am not a big camper...that's why I rarely snipe. Need to get out and run around...when I am sniping and no one is around, I tend to run around with the sniper, always forget to change guns or pick up some good one's laying around and then get killed...LOL

Have you played CTF on COD2 servers? I have not really looked at any? May check it out today if I have time. Thanks

BTW...I love stealing the flag...and then running around in a jeep...I don't think any COD2 servers have jeeps yet...but that would be cool for some of the larger maps.

actually those of us that come to the MOB server mostly play CTF. there are no vehicles in cod2. and i hope there never are =-P
the only map that is really open enough for vehicles anyway is brecourt.

and i do the whole run around with a sniper gun too heh.

I have pleayed another server as well and the game was hold the flag where ya had to capture the SINGLE flag and keep it from the other team for a specific amount of time to score the points. So you were either gaurding yourself or the teammate with the flag or searching the houses etc. to find the other team that does have the flag and get it back.
Not sure if this is a modded gametype as I don't think that I have seen it in the standard COD2 menu.

I just get sick of constant run and gun with no major objective and end up going to find another server playing these type of gametypes.

I would like to see a server start out with a gametype rotation on a daily basis and run for a couple of weeks. then post a message on our server to have people come to the forums and vote for the gametype they like on our server! Whether it be a single gametype people like or a few gametypes rotated.

Getting a little better at COD2 TDM. Following Shadow, Druid and Bullet around...LOL....I like being on vent while playing COD2 because you get the feed back from the better players...There input has made my game a lot more enjoyable.... Thanks guys!!!

The flags dont' wave in teh wind tho... when u run, it's more realistic then having a big square flag sign above your head, u actually carry it...

you guys should, CTF is lots of fun, less camping than sad but more strategic than tdm. Oh and Ja1son, your welcome back anytime, that was pretty fun.

its really not too strategic in pubs that have more than 20 people. its kind of a TDM with a flag thrown in there just to add to your points heh.
yeah, i liked that server. i dont like your TDM server though i dislike moded servers heh

There is an alternative to adding a new server. How about changing up the map rotation on the tdm server or take out some of the blatantly crappy ones. Like Leningrad, Burgundy, pretty much the spray and pray maps. I notice that some guys will sit out these maps because they hate getting killed every 2 seconds by a nade or spawn. Not that, thats not allowed or anything, it just gets annoying and discouraging after a while. It can be delt with if you have enough skill, but often is not worth the effort.

No, don't do anything to the Barb servers, they kick ass. Alot of people on Barb want to become MOB but their e-mails are going unanswered.
