K, i'm not sure what happened, but i was kicked from Tuchola Forest for language.

Dolphin Girl (99% sure it was her) kicked me, and i have nothing against her, but the term in question was "Bum Sex," which anyone who has played with me has probably seen my bind, and i just say it as a joke (perhaps i say it too much).

Right before i was kicked, someone (again not sure, but think it was Dolphin Girl) said, "I warned you Oh You," then shortly afterwards i was kicked.

The problem is, i never saw a warning, maybe there was one, but if there was, i missed it in all the people talking, (there were a lot of people talking), i didn't see my name, (again i may have missed it in all the talking) and then was kicked.

So to finish off, is "Bum Sex" a term i shouldn't use, (i've used it in front of countless [Regs], and {MOB} people), cause if it is i will no longer countinue to say it.

Also, i only made this thread cause i was kicked, with no warning to my knowledge (of course you proved me wrong and all but i wasn't aware of that), and i wanted to know whether or not my bind was the issue.

I know its kind of silly to make a big deal over such a little thing but it didn't make any sense to me.

Oh You, understand that it is a pain in the butt to police the servers when engaged in battle. Sometimes we are patient and put up with bad language, other times we don't.

I can totally appreciate what DG did as I get really ticked when I'm playing with my young nephew and people start swearing. Recently, in the heat of battle, he turned to me and said, "What does WTF mean?" LOL! He asked because someone had said that to him!

We've got a lot of kids playing on the MOB servers and we try to keep things family-friendly.

It's easy to understand that you didn't see DG's first warning, and so, it must be easy for you to understand that DG probably didn't see your follow-up questions. She most likely had her head in the console issuing the kick command!

I respect that, but to me, you must understand, it seemed like i was up and kicked without being given a warning (of course i know i was proven wrong and there was one). The word sex, never even crossed my mind as inappropriate language, (maybe it is, its not my decision), i just thought it was a funny little joke.

Heres another thing, i'm not going to name names, but how come i get kicked over "bum sex", and a member of {MOB} recently, like in the last 45 minutes says "fuck" on the Tuchola Forest server. I personally don't care about the language, but it does seem a double standard, because for all you know my little brother (hypothetical-non existant little brother) was online under my name, and now i've exposed him to this language. (If the reply to this is the {MOB} members get a double standard i'm cool with that too, because its your server.)

Well, 2 weeks ago Oh You was spamming the crap out of the console in Cassino. Several of us asked him very nicely to stop but it just egged him on. It's not that the stuff was offensive, it's just that he wasn't playing and just hitting his binds the whole game. It was quite annoying and back in the day when I admined, I would have warned him and then kicked. The binds just cause mad lag when they are repeated that fast... not to mention again that they are sooooo annoying.

In every single case were a player has posted on the forum about getting kicked for language,
the player in question had been WARNED previous to getting kicked.

This is the 3rd or 4th time I've posted this.
From the server rules.

The focus of the above rules is to insure our servers are a fun place to play.
We realize not every possible situation can be addressed in the server rules.
If a {MOB} member ask you to do something, then abide by their request.

Rarely does a person get kicked for bad language. Everyone slips (although, how difficult is it to tell yourself NOT to type?), instead, it is usually the come-backer. We warn about language and then out come the insults and taunting. This is our house, none of the MOB family should have to put up with abuse in our house. From my experience, this is a well-understood concept on the MOB servers. If you are beligerent towards a MOB member, you most likely will be kicked. In fact, it is so well understood, I often have regulars telling the offender "good bye" and then they jump on me if I **DON'T** kick the offender!

When it comes to language, I'm far from a prude when playing by myself, but I've been sensitized by my fellow MOB members who often play with their young kids (or have kids and a wife near enough to hear the language over Vent). MOB is a family. Sometimes the adults are off on their own, and other times the kids are in the room. Most MOB members know when these times are. Regular visitors might not know that the kids are playing. I have a simple keybind to remind people when **I know** kids are on board. This may not appear to be consistent (especially if we have a MOB member or Regs Member swearing a blue streak), but there is often reason behind the madness.

Oh You obviously didn't taunt this time and he innocently missed the warning. DG kicked for a short period of time. She and Oh You have discussed it. End of story.

I think there is something to be said here, though. In the rules it is stated that while we are not "G" rated, we do ask that the language (bad) be kept to a minimum. That statement would assume that all players have good judgement of what is bad language and a good understanding of what is a minimum. To some players not saying certain expletives every five minutes is keeping their language in check, while others could play all nite and never issue a controversial comment. Never assume anything! Most people don't exercise good judgement, that is why we have laws! Obviously, the wording of the rule is a "gray" area with it's boundaries loosly governed by whomever is carrying the big stick at that particular moment.

If you have gone to the trouble to assign keys on your keyboard with questionable statements, then, in my opinion, that is not the occasional "slip" or keeping it to a minimum. Again, an error in judgement. If I assigned keys, I would be anxious to use them, not keep them put away. Make sense?

Until we have a black and white solution I.E. "We allow bad language" or "We do not allow bad language" and a list of what is considered by this organization to be "bad" language, this will be an infinite topic of discussion because it is always gonna be a judgement call. Some people will like it and some won't. Too bad, because if you tread there, you're probably gonna be removed from play, therefore, allowing you plenty of time to reflect on what is considered to be "bad".

P.S. The ratings for these games is "T" for "teens". and the gameplay experience can change while online. Nine year olds are not "Teens". Again, a judgement call.

I was on at the time. I saw Oh You use his bind. He usually uses it in retort to mine of "Wunderbar" Which simply means wonderful in german. There was someone else who was cursing. I did NOT catch the name for all the chatter. I saw her issue a warning, and I hit my LANGUAGE bind. To let the person know that they were warned. I remember seeing the word F*** and that's why I hit my button. The F word was not oh you, but someone else. Whoever said the F word, continually started talking trash, and that is who i thought DG kicked. I turned to her in game and said thank you. Oh You, I know that you did not say F. I do a condump at the end of almost every game to have evidence of cursive or abusive language. This is what i saw of the matter. I don't think she was wrong in her judgement and as hammatime has already stated. She apologized, you apologized THE END...

comes down to this... when a server full of people start acting up someone gets kicked. I will kick a member if there is a problem with them... I have done it. I hold no hard feelings to anyone, sometimes a kick reminds them of what the rules are. you were kicked for 15 minutes... not bad considering I sometimes kick for the day. I have to say, after reading this thread im happy that im not gonna be 14 for much longer anymore, but assuming its the 13/14 year olds that always start things is a bit presumptuous (spelling?) wouldnt you say. I find the most immature age group ranges from about 10-13, they have an attitide with no respect. Thats's just my view on it.

Now, to address the Dr. Satan issue. Dont let him bother you, its easy to turn his anger into a game. For instance, i had and still have a game with him to compare how many bullets it takes for us to bring each other down. I won with the best average. Now, if you feel that you need to abuse him, dont bother with words, just go to the cassino 24/7 server, which may not be around much longer =(. He is an easy kill, his kill-death ratio is about 1.2-1 roughly, unless he is on a crush team. He averages 40-50 kills per cassino game, unless he gets lucky with the teams and gets 75 kills (i was also amazed). Well, remind me to not watch tv when a type a post, i lost my train of thought!
