Just curious what every1 uses, I currnetly use trackball & have heard that optical is better. I am thinking of switching to optical, but I am wondering if its a noticeable difference.
I can't believe you use a tardball. I didn't think any gamers used those...wow.
I use an Intellimouse Explorer Optical...very good mouse.

Logitech Dual Optical. It is smooth.
Do you have to move an optical around a smuch as trackball?, my wrist is freaking killing me lately...(yes it is from playing MOHAA)
Also, off the subject Epacy y do u like Nvidia as opposed to ATI. I am debating as to whehter I should dump my ATI card all together.

ditto
Nice AOBTC. Panzer-I know why you asked that question.
Nvidia has better driver support and having a Nvidia chipset on your mobo meshes better with Nvidia products. I have had my TI4600 for 1 year and 5 months and haven't had any problems. I don't hear the same about ATI's longevity. My roommate had an ATI card and experienced mad problems when trying to interface with his VIA chipset. Others have had the same board with Nvidia and have experienced none of those problems. In conclusion, Nvidia is more trouble free.
Optical.
I think they are the best because of how easy and smooth it is to move.
A 5 button mouse helps a lot.
MOHAA doesn't support the extra buttons, but you can use the MS mouse software and program the extra buttons to keystrokes.
Thx. for feedback Epacy, that's what I was looking for was the trouble free part.
Guess I'll get me an optical mouse then, if I don't like it I can always return it.
Logitech Dual Optical.
As for the video card, I've had the ATI Radeon 9700 Pro since it was released.... no problems or compatibility problems yet.

Real I have a 9700 pro as well, except I had to rma it for service due to heat stress artifacting I was getting. I received a new card back yesterday that was worse then my original I sent in; prompting me to lose all faith in ATI's ability to put out a decent card, and provide satisfactory service.
Panzer, did you buy an ATI car or a off brand with atis chip set?
Also I use an Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 works great.
As for the ATi vs. nVidia I prefer ATi because the image quality is far superior than nVidia, and ATi has great driver support. but if you going to buy a new card, id be interested in your old one
EDIT: and it was your fault the ATi card broke, cuz you overclocked it too much for too long, so you cant blame that on ATi
JP is correct though. If you push the overclocking too much you're going to burn it out.
I have always been an NVIDIA fan and ulways used their cards. However, when the Radeon 9700 Pro came out, I couldn't resist.
Yes I did overclock it. However, it was for a brief time (less than a week) and I never went past the recommended 5% clock rate. That's when I first posted that pick w/ the weird artifacts. Stopped after that; I see ppl pushing the clock rates 20% what the defaults r @. Besides I'm not so upset about that as I am that I get a NEW card and it's worse then what I sent in.
Also, I used to have old nvidia mmx and I overclocked that bad boy far past what i did with the 9700 & never had artifacts in MOHAA.

| What an endearing post. |
i have no clue on what the hell they are talking about.
did you have added cooling tho, ive overclocked my 8500 75mhz core and 75mhz memory(doubles to 150) with no problems, cause I thru on a crystal orb, those ATi fans they put on are weak as hell and only ment for stock running speed. And a video card company never suggests an overclock rate for anycards, your lucky they even gave/giving you a new one. Cause overclocking anything is an instant void of the warrenty.
Yeah, Yeah JP. However, if I card cant handle less than a 5% o/c stock...then it is not built for quality. Just my 2 cents
So if a card isnt built for overclocking its crap? heh, but if you would have left it alone it would have ran for years. Ive had my 8500 for about 1 year now, and my computer stays on 24/7 so the card never gets a break, and shes going strong
and ati doesnt support overclocking, the 3rd party companys do look at this 9700 vs. atis
Sapphires 9700

ATi's 9700

No which one do you think is ment to overclock?
lol, ill slap your bitch ass

Whatever is cheaper, thats what the redneck's pick is.
Logitech optical.
I ended up getting the 5-button MS IntelliMouse Optical off of e-bay for $15
hey jp is that sapphire 9700 any more than the stock one from ati that you show in those 2 pics?? i got my 9500 from sappire and it's been working great....except when i overclocked it too much for a short time
Chig..about time u got your ass on the forums. Do not overclock too much or u risk permanaently damaging your video card.
what do you mean any more than stock, spped or price or what?
