I camp and i been gettin complaints about campers. At your servers is it not allowed?I dont think any mob members where on not but I was told that camping is not allowed at Goodfellas. If so I dont think it is right. In the middle of a war you cant just send a letter to the enemy saying that ambushing is getting us killed so much will u please stop. It is part of the game

Of course it's allowed, it's just not respected.

I mean hell I camp on Certain Maps cause I hate those certain maps with a passion. But I dont camp on all maps Like some People do -- and after a while camping just tends to piss me off LOL.

Like Spectre -- I think its awesome you use Missionary all the time and that gets you respect but your ways of camping make that respect-o-meter drop really really far down I hate to say it =P

Camp long enough to get your score up, then head out. Some people get hellbent on killing campers so it's a double edged sword.

What's the consensus on hanging out in an area where you have a great vantage point and just mowing people down? I mean, if they keep running out in the open (read: certain parts of DV) then isn't that justified? That's different than, say, hiding behind the damn couch in Southern France...

leave the couch alone....i would rather go 4-1 and kill a camper then 2-1 playing....killing campers is a joy. but killing spawns is a sexual experience.....

I get what yall are saying. At algiers I camp at the corner in the alley for like 1/3 of the map but I dont sit there the whole map. At DV I snipe and when i snipe i like to sit on my butt and hit guys that have no idea where im at. Like I said I know what yall are saying.

I gave you shit today about sniping on S. France but you don't camp any more or less than any other player. It's the players like Troop, Doodoo, Stone & DEUCE that kill the server with their ignorance.

I agree with Cypher, there are only a few people that camp in stupid spots and stay there the whole game. As for you Spectre, I have played with you and you don't really camp that much, just here and there and that is apart of the game.

I actually love campers. Its fun to listen to the skulls crack when my pistol connects.

You're right Larry. When I started reading, I was surprised that my name wasn't mentioned, considering our discussions in the past. I don't want to argue with you guys if possible. Can't we all just get along?

Because of the criticism, I've tried to add some running and gunning to my game. One of my problems for MOHAA is the mouse keyboard only control setup. When I first started playing games (Hexen II, Quake, Unreal, F-15, etc.), I used a joystick (Panther XL). I've had to transition into the keyboard mouse thing. Ramos has taught me new spawnkilling spots, and I've tried to add them to my game as well. Great players like Diesel and Cypher keep getting high scores because they know how to "harvest" their victims: they know the maps so well. I've got to keep practicing and specing. Sometimes when I'm getting whupped, camping is my only way to keep positive scores, and you know I'm a stat junkie. I'll never be as good as Cypher, but I love playing this game.

PS: Last night about 4:00 am, I got into a pretty good 3 on 3 fight with BLK and Barg0d in SF, my main camping map, and I held my own in an almost total running and gunning fight. I just need to practice more!

I noticed you running and gunning last night. A friend of mine at work is having a hard time with the transition between playstation controller and pc. Plays a very good MOH on playstation but cannot for the life of me get him to play pc. I WILL eventually get him on the server.

I for the life of me cannot understand how anyone plays a first-person shooter using anything but a mouse/keyboard combo.

My thoughts exactly.. the difference between me playing console games and PC is the precision and freedom of movement that the mouse/ keyboard give. Also the fact that a monitor resolution kicks the crap out of my non hd tv.

i wont even lie....camping is fun (once in a while) when im getting owned i try and guess the way they are going to go and set up camp...... just sometimes its better to be light camping, and keep moving. i like it when people camp on the second story balcony by the alley....and i get killed allot but, picking them off is very orgasmic.

As Cypher has informed me, I have limited talent. Yes, I want to be a better runner and gunner; however, I like to snipe (camp) Remagen. That map bores me, and the only thing that I can do, is play the sniper's nest. You R&G's should try it sometime. You have right and left flank attacks, and fighters try to sneak up behind. Otherwise, I wouldn't play Remagen. Southern France is a camper's paradise. I guess it's too much to ask for respect, how about toleration?

But if you ever get a chance, jump on brp's server really quick and play that map. soooo many noobs, and it's easy to rack up 30 kills or so in a few minutes. just be careful cuz brp guys are pretty quick to accuse people of cheating w/ even speccing them (read brp frenchschoolgirl).

You're a polite writer, and I like that. I've been playing on the BRP servers. You're right, a great place to practice. There I don't care about stats. I think that's part of my problem with the R&G greats; I hate getting slaughtered. Like I said, I need more practice.

When i first started, about 20 weeks ago, i played under the name geewhz. I think i ended with something like a 1/5 kill ratio. Not like it's much better now, but still, it was sad... lol

The BRP server may have invented camping. Hell, you'll find BRP members in Southern France hiding behind the white couches in SF and squatting up on the dressers in the church in DV, etc., etc -- all over the place in every map. Goodfellas is nothing like that.

Hell, I like "resting" occasionally, like in Algiers up on the roof, under the moonlight, sipping my beer at home and taking a few pop shots as they come up -- especially since that map comes after Stalingrad where it's so manic. And there are built in kill spots on all the maps -- call 'em camping (I guess it depends on how long you stay there) -- but they still total up as you rotate through them. I don't have any problems with people who choose to fight that way -- and really wish they didn't with me if I choose to crouch and wait a bit to shoot them -- but I'm sure they do.

The other day on MOB Goodfellas there were a several players complaining about the camping and I typed them this: "Maybe you girls should find a server where camping is illegal, but bitching is encouraged!" Oh well, think about it.

Cycling through all the good kill spots on a map is one thing and that's perfectly cool. Fighting your way behind enemy lines, like getting onto the roof in Algiers and shooting people while they throw grenades in the alley, that's cool too.

The true camper hides out in an area that doesn't have a whole lot of traffic, usually behind something like a couch, or in the bushes, because he can't handle killing more than one person at a time. He gets the strays, he never budges, and when he dies, you can always find him heading back to the same spot, oblivious of the action around him. That's when you bash his ass...

This is good HC. I try to kill as many folks as possible. You guys know that I place myself in the heat of battle. Do I not?

I agree with holden. And its the people who hide in obsucre places like behind doors that get under my skin. Its one thing to get nailed by a camper, but its another VERY IRRITATING thing to get nailed by a camper in the back...which I think is pretty wussy.

Since the issue is about campers.....what really chaps my ass is when there are only about 8 people playing on the server and 5-6 or camping....you spend half the map just trying to find them. I figured I was gonna be playing MOHAA and not "hide and go seek"

i was on brp the other day - just me and 1 of them in the server and he was camping the entire time - behind couches, doors, in the barrel room...

what a tosser - that's why I love Remagen and DV.

Get in their spawn zone and rape em so they don't have time to move to camp spots...wait a sec...they don't even have time to move before they're mowed down

These guys don't bother to try playing, they camp behind doors, couches, walls, stairs and boxes with no intention of ever learning anything. They play to ruin the experience for everybody instead of playing to have fun. When any of these losers join the server you can see the dynamic of the server change dramatically from a bunch of good guys having fun to a bunch of neophytes clamoring for attention by seeing who can be the biggest piece of shit. When it is brought to their attention that they are killing the server they act as if nothing is their fault. True blissful ignorance.

alright u know what i think they need to make a mod where if u camp for over 30 secs in one spot a hitman comes to your house slits your throat then rapes you!!!!! That's why I like Goodfellas so much. The play is so clean. Ive played on servers (just came from one) where pretty much the entire hosting clan is hiding out, as Ramos says, on the dressers and whatnot. And it was 3 v 3! It's one thing for a noob to do it, but for a clan? I would think a certain sense of pride would have prevented that.

To D-Silver: Yes that must be a feeling of accomplishment to blow the sniper out of the nest in Remagen. It works the other way too. When I sense that a fighter is attempting to aim that perfect shot, it gives me pleasure to get him or her first. Shifty and BLK are good at placing that shot. I invite you guys to try sniping there and then I'll try the kill shot from afar.

(boring) i shoot down range at the guys sitting behind the crates and wagon. more fun to see if you can zoom in on him b4 he can on u. its a trip. but i like to piss people of on that map and i camp the shit out of the doorways so...

There is a mod, where if you stand still for something like 15 seconds your health graudally decreases. It kind of sucks though.

I thought there was one that would blow you up if you sat somewhere for too long.

One of the freeze tag servers (brp?) sets your guy on fire so everyone can see you if you stay put for more than 15 seconds. You gradually die, and there's nothing you can do about. It's kind of funny hearing your guy pant as he crackles in the flames

I like the long shots too, but if you've ever seen me go 20+ from the nest (I have several times), most of those shots are from the left; it's the sweet spot. Moreover, you have to watch out for BLK. He gets me from the left.

Yes the essence of campers is put very well here. I HATE behind the couch campers (southern france) . Well on 1 of our COD servers Ashe put a anti camp mod. IF you camp for more than a minute (I think but not sure of time limit) your location is marked on all players compasses with a big X icon that blinks. This is so everyone knows your a camper and where the hell you are so that they can find you and bash you. Also the console with say "so and so marked for camping in 5 sec" and then we make fun of them. Its great!

That is a very good idea, for a couple of reasons, but however sometimes the right thing to do is camp to hold a postion or something for your team. Although I hate campers sometimes it is the right thing to do.

I see NP with someone camping an area.It's smart play, especially if they use a sniper or rifle..There is no difference between Camping the Sandbags Remagen spawn killng or Camping the middle house on SF..Your still camping..

Shit Cypher instead of running through a door, open & check first.Intead of running around a corner, check first before blowing right around it.Shit playing against campers makes you a much better player, also teaches you how to approach & assualt that spot..

Don't get me wrong Cypher, but I understand your frustration,,I hate it when players just don't move, but oh well...

i love camping especally when when u camp in front of a spawn for me cause all i care about is stats stats stats i see no reason to play the game with out no stats but thats my opinion and i love killing campers its so easy But as for snipers thats kinda tha whole point unless ur tha shit at run and gun w/ sniper
