actually i stand corrected-6 ports
sflorida
baltimore
new orleans are three of the ports.
im suprised no reaction because i live in south florida and still amazed on what comes through the ports on a dailey basis!
LMAO, what a joke... they get them ports im moving to feezys country, or canada...
Yeah, I have to award Bush with a DUNCE cap on this one....
He is playing dumb! this has been an issue down here (s florida) for a month and a half and is now just hitting national news.but when i found out the other 5 ports involved,!@#$ are they thinking!
1.south fl ports-everything from human slaves to drugs and stolen vehicles goes through the port! they might be able to detect something!? scared!
2.new york-on gaurd ,probably will catch them!
3.philidelphia-who cares!
4.baltimore-been major sea port since 1800s and russian mob runs you name it !mojor port for military as well! makes me very nervous
5.new jersey- faget about it!!! more scared now!
6.new orleans- how the f**k are they going to be able to detect anything? theyr so broke we will be lucky to see a security gaurd making 5 an hr there! this is where the nuke comes in!

imagine pieces of a nuke coming in and the uranium coming over the mexican border?!@#
Just so you know, the ports in NJ and NYC are both controlled by the "Port Authority" which also controls a bunch of other stuff. The NJ ports are directly across from Manhattan. And quite close to Giants stadium.
Not that any cares...

I really have a feeling that we will be reaing about this decision in history texts as something that led up to a major event. A very Negative event for us. the idea that a country will not destory what is thiers (if the port is thiers, they will not daage it) is insanity. You can see how much they respect thier own country, with those booming metropolis' in the middle east, oh thats right, they blow themselves up. LOTS of logic here ($$$). I voted twice against this lunatic.
i didnt word it right i think but what i was saying is if you wanted to get a nuke in you could have one piece come in in each port with the uranium come across the border of mexico. or probably into new orleans.

i think bush is getting paid off on this one, hes defending it to hard not to be getting paid.
I never really had anything against Bush until this port crap came up. Its just retarted to give control of a port on American soil to another country, an Arab country no less. Someone needs to smack him around and make him realize this is a very bad idea.
It's not that Bush is getting paid, he's being proactive for when we send troops into Iran. We will be taking military action against Iran at some point in the near future. Seeing that the Arab Emirates have been long time allies of the United States, we are doing one of those "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours" deals. They own a company that can make alot of money securing our ports and we need more land bordering Iran. Since we already have an air field in the Emirates that they allow us to use, it kind of makes sense. If we end up killing the port plan, it will have a bad effect on our relationship with the Arab Emirates and they might not allow us to use their country for military hospitals.
I know it doesn't make too much sense because Iran is sandwiched between Iraq and Afghanistan, which we have operations going on in both... plus we're set up in the sea port below Iran. Personally I think this is the reason that Iran has been freaking out lately, they're surrounded and feel threatened. Not justifying what they've been doing or saying, I think Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is insane plus the fact that he was one of the main players in taking American hostages in 79-80, I wouldn't mind seeing him dead.
I think all and all, the Arab Emirates have done a lot for the US and Canada in the past and present. It is a risk for our country to take, but if it means having a closer military hospital to the battlefield that can save soldiers lives, I'm all for it.
My two cents.

this is the deal! ive talke to head of the real estate div ,a few people who work at the port and i talked to the mayor of fort lauderdale last night and asked the question about the ports and i got the same response. allthough dubai has been the owner of these ports the united emerites have %51 OF THEIR CORP STOCKS! wich means if you follow the paper trail back 10 years they have always been the operators of these ports, they are simply going public with their ownership.if the reporters had done their jobs right you would have read this in the paper but you didnt! who was the president 10 years ago? this story is a joke! and when we have a problem with iran there will be a major problem with this corp!
the more i read, new orleans is the most important port out of all 6 !? more food and medical supplies etc...come through the gulf port at n.o.a day for this country than anywhere else ,which is why alot of people couldnt get supplies after the hurricane.even all the way to minnesota and chicago!
dont feel safe because our pocket lining politicians are supposed to be blocking this "purchase".
ques-if i have the money to buy %51 of microsofts stocks, could the govt block me?and if i had bought it 10 years ago and agreed to or dicided it to be better to take a silent partner role in the corp. could they step in and take my stock options now? i dont think-
