I posted this in Canuck's thread on stats, but my post was skipped over. I'll try again.

Has MOB ever considered using VSP stats? Having just changed my tag from HammaTime to {MOB}HammaTime I discovered that the current stats track by tag name. VSP doesn't have this problem. Additionally, VSP tracks who you've killed and who has killed you, a great incentive for so many of our personal rivalries. And most importantly, VSP stats tracks your team wins and losses which definitely provides an additional incentive to win a round as opposed to settling for a draw.

I have no connection to VSP stats. I have simply used their stats on other servers.

I think this would be a good package to add. What I really like is tracking team victories. I used to do this myself for months, partly to re-assure myself my team was not losing more than winning. Sometimes I would so negative it seems like we were losing all the time. During the time I tracked my team victories, I found my team won about 2/3rds of the time (in non-draws)! It was a nice surprise and kept me more positive after that.

I'd also like to see if some player is better or worse at helping the team win than their personal stat might indicate. I think there could be a guy with a 1.00 kill ratio who is more valuable to have on your team than a guy with a 2.00 ratio, if he is focusing on objectives, keeping the other team off-kilter rather than hogging all the best tanks and just playing safe. I notice stats on the Stock map server ( i rarely play anymore, but I checked it out), and there is a guy there with a 12.5 kill ratio!!!! Unbelievable I thought. Then I delved into the stats a little further. Firstly, almost all his kills were in a tank. With 167 round and 1800+ kills, he only tried to plant 6 times, never successfully planted once, and only defused twice! So despite being a terrific player who never dies, I wonder if he hides in his tank even as bases are being planted? A stat tracking his wins would be extremely interesting. He kills 12 times more people than kill him, but does he win 12 games for every loss? OTOH, my friend who plays with me sometimes is only around a 1.00 kill ratio, but I'm fairly sure we win about 60-70% of the time. Sometimes, just willing to speed in towards a defended base in a jeep is what gives others a chance to sneak behind the enemies lines!

I think I've seen these before. Seems pretty cool to me.

This is exactly the problem I think VST stats can solve. I was just playing alongside the player you mentioned. He drives me NUTS. He WON'T get out of his tank to defuse. He tucks his tail and runs at the first indication there is an enemy offensive mounting. He has found spots in each game in which he can hide his tank and get easy kills. Sure, he has an amazing K/D ratio, but his value is nil in my opinion. VST would surely show that most of his games end in draws or losses.

On this server, I'd like to think that we all want to be team oriented and do whatever it takes to ensure our team wins. VST might help us focus on the proper objective.

Cross of Iron
what bugs me in SBA server is when a bomb has been planted by the opposing team ,the bunker is clear and your own team mates just stay next to it just for the reinforcement kills and not to defuse the bomb...........Hamma knows who im talking about.............so VSp would be a great idea (in my mind) for that purpose alone.

I'll take a look at it this weekend.
It appears it's time to look at another stats package anyways because the site support the current one has been done for 2 weeks. No telling if they will be back or not.

Haha! I knew it! I started joining a few stock map games hoping to get in a game with him just to watch and see what he does but didn't find him.

Man, I freak out when I see guys sitting in tanks outside a base that is about to fall! Or pulling out satchel packs to throw in with you only have another 10 seconds to get in the base! With me, I sit back until artillery stops falling if possible, throw gernades and stachels in if I got the time, but if the clock is nearing zero I charge full bore into anything, guns blazing, and hope like hell my bullets find a few heads! w00t2.gif

I could probably get my kill ratio above 2.00 if I played safe I suppose, but I love planting the hard bases or the last base, and I love getting a last second defuse! Sure, I love my long kill streaks too, but only if it leads to something, and most of all, I love victory! Even if I have a bad game, victory mostly makes up for it. I only feel bad if I felt my play was holding the team back. So yeah, VSP stats and tracking team victories would be great. I think it'd make some dude like me look pretty good, and I better even some lesser skills guys look a little more impressive than their stats might show.
