I just want to voice my opinion about the 24/7 Cassino server. I dont know if you MOB guys give a rats ass about it but I know you are all pretty big on Base Assault. I just want to know if theres anyway the lag on that specific server can be fixed. Ive played Cassino on other servers and the map lags a little but not near as bad as it does on here. And lately its been so bad its becoming a joke. Lag spikes at least once a game, disconnects at least once a week, ridiculous lag killing, etc. I think its an awesome server, the talent level there overall is so much higher than base assault. Besides a few other servers I play on it is one of the toughest servers to play on and get an awesome score (esp. on allies) But Ive also seen its driving a lot of people away, despite the numerous complaints of relentless spawn slaughtering. The lag is the number one problem on that server: not complaints of spawn killing or people doing exploits or people cursing or recruiting. If it has to do with the connection, connection type, # of people in the game; whatever, if I have to donate $ I will, to try and get this server running smooth.

yeah, i've given up on playing there once or twice but couldn't keep myself to it. i think one of the reasons i lag so much there is my shitty computer, and with massive arty at the end. i'm still a fan of making arty 60 or 70 kills instaed of 40 where countless people can get it over and over and over and over...

its funny that even with the lag Trag can get a 120 + game , no sweat. i'd hate to see him if the server had hardly any lag..

Nothing, that probably helps a little. Ive also seen, (with common sense) that certain weapons tend to fire better depending on the voracity of the lag. When Ive used sniper rifles (both sides) even under the most intense lag spikes they are very effective. The 44 seems to work best next. You can forget about using the Gewehr or BAR. Ive got a screenshot from the other day where I was right in front of a guy aiming down the sight (this is when lag was horrible the whole game) and I emptied a BAR clip in him. He turns around and kills me in about 2 hits with a 44 full health no head shot. And no I was not missing. When it gets that bad for me it really pisses me off. Also when I use the kar I can see the bullets curve almost 10-15 degrees to hit guys running. That shouldnt happen either. When the lag is not bad the Garand owns, which Ive been using more often, but then when it picks up its almost like it shoots as bad as a thompson. So idk, I just wish and hope there is a way to fix it.

scope's suck for lag, people skip across the scope. i agree with the 44 though.

Server side there are only two things that could cause lag
CPU Choke << I keep a close eye on this an it's not an issue
Network problems at the server << This would effect everyone equally

Everything else is out of our control.
For example anyone with comcast has been experiencing lots of lag and disconnects for the last week.
This is a network problem out side of our control, it's an issue somewhere along their route to the server.

i don't have comcast. but the lag has pretty much always been the same for me, sometimes a little worse, sometimes better. but its never really NOT THERE.

i have comcast with 6 megs.. Don't have any lag at all. My ping stays in the 40's.. which is great.

I have a ping of 50s generally but my fraps fps counter shows me in the range of 85 down to 40fps. I play with 256 ram on a 2.2gig sloop class pc. So what I do to have a decent ping is set my game screen to 800x600. Graphics are still good, but playing is alot better for when those lag issues occur- usually.

man... goes down to 40? mine goes up to 40... i usually play with around 20 fps....

my ping was up in the 130's today. its usually at like...30-50.

My ping is usually in the 40's and 50's. My fps is always upper 80's to 91 mostly.

I forget which thread it was, but Scrapyard Bob had a whole bunch of hints on how to possibly get your game more fluid regarding ping/fps. You might want to start up a thread on that topic to which he and other mob-know-it-alls regarding this can reply.

It was mostly a link to the pinned topics in the CoD:UO forum. There's a sticky topic in there that explains the FPS meter and the Lag-O-Meter. And I think there was some tuning tips.
