Hey guys, I think its about time for me to permanetly leave Cassino24/7, and maybe CoD altogether. Yesterday I was 57-14 with about 15-20 minutes left. There were only about 16 people in there, and lag for me was fine. Then more people eventually got in (about 20-22) and there was a lag spike. Then I could feel I was laggy, even though my ping was in the 50s. What really set me off was when I creeped up to kill u in ur spot Nothing. I came around with a thompson, and I KNOW I hit u in the head bc I have blood on and it came out. You still had time to get up and run into the middle part. I killed kowolski with the rest of my clip. Then reloading and entering in where u were, I emptied another 30 rounds at and around you. That still didnt do the trick so I whipped out my pistol trying to shoot, and u killed me full health with 2 maybe 3 pistol shots. Now Im not perfect and I know I miss frequently but that was ridiculous. I know I hit you enough to kill you over two or three times. I left that game 5 minutes before the end 64-29, barely 2:1 ratio. I know it sounds like complaining but: I get on to have fun and be competitive. I dont get on to run around spraying to kill one person, die, and mindlessly repeat the process. I want to always have awesome scores and stats. But when stuff like that happens its not fun. I just dont understand why my ping always says its in the 50-60s but when I play at the servers I feel like its over 100. And its happened too often, Im tired of it. So good luck with whoever will be crowned the next Cassino King, this ones stepping down.

Trag, I like playing against you. There are too many noobs on there that make easy targets, we can't afford to lose the talented people there.

I've had the same experiences with playing Cassino. There are days that I can't seem to hit anything. But that doesn't make me want to quit, it just makes the times that I'm in the zone that much sweeter.

I know what you mean, it happens to me to. But mainly when using the Thompson. Thats why Im almost always german. If there is a little lag, the Tommy sucks ass. The lag really is not that bad for me. If you use the mp44 or the rifles like I do, I dont get that too often anymore. I believe thats also why the Allies lose at least 70% of the time.

I can't believe what I just read. You'll be missed too much Trag! I refuse to accept you won't come back after a few days to see if things are back to normal. At least just take a brief break. There may be a call of duty for you in MOB possibly. Stick around chum.
ps.try 600x800 screen see if that helps- I'm sure it helps me out...tonight in Cassino I had 70-80 fps sometimes// 20 players in.

I can't believe all you guys are begging him to stay. I don't play Casino, so I don't know him, but that has to be the whiniest post I've ever seen! Poor baby played a game with only a 2-1 kill ratio? WTF? Yakking on and on about how he failed to kill one guy because the bullets didn't fly his way? Welcome to Call od Duty Mofo!!! It happens. Suck it up. If you ping says 60, that's what it is. If you are the "King of Cassino" stop complaining because you have a bad game where you are still twice as good as average. If you aren't having fun anymore, by all means, move on to your next game. But don't act like some divine intervention prevented you from getting one kill, your ping meter is in error when everyone else's is correct, or having a 2-1 kill ratio is the end of the world!

I wll end with one little tidbit of advice despite myself. If you ping seems higher than it is, it is probably your computer lagging. Close some programs in background, defrag your drives, etc. But if your just tired of the game, say a friendly goodbye. Don't pretend the Gods aligned against you and you just won't take it anymore!

I don't know what time you were on, but I'd like to put my 2 cents in. Lately we've had our practice server running quite a bit. Now, MOB runs it's own box. All our servers run out of this box. We keep our practice server offline unless we our using it because we know it will add lag to our public servers. This may or may not be the cause of your problem, but I hope you consider it. We don't leave our practice (it's also our match server) server on unless we are using it. Maybe this was the case. I can't say for sure. But clearly you have been playing there for quite a while and I'd hate to see a regular player leave because the lag got bad for a short period of time.
Now for a shameless plug...
If we had more money we could open a second box and more servers with less lag.
I don't think that's happening any time soon, LOL, but it's always worth a shot.

And as for your COD2 worries, it takes a while to get used to. I started hanging out in the MOB server when it was just a MOHAA server. I was never very good, but the best of the best played there, and I was happy to have a .75 ratio there. That's kind of where we are at now, only it used to be that the MOB guys were all in the top. Now we've gone from mohaa tdm to cod uo BA and now back to cod2tdm, so it will take a bit of time, but we are on our way. I'm not sure that I'll ever be as good at TDM as I am at BA (maybe with a better pc) but I still have fun there.
Then again, stats were never my thing. I just like to have fun playing.

If you knew him you'd know he gets a bit disgruntled in game when things aren't going perfectly as even he admits, but all that aside he's a well liked person and that 'whine' characteristic is forgiveable by those that know him since he's striving for top notch play/results.

Anyway Trag once again, make some game adjustments.. there's a sticky thread somewhere here on dealing with lag issues/ping maintenance- go through that or come back after a coupla days.

Everyone deals with the same issues.

None taken, but someone trying to get him to stay cares. If no-one cares all they need do is not post. It's a pleasure playing against him - sure he whines but I just ignore it since I know him to do it in the server but he's also in a good mood too many times.
I think I see where Trag's issue is coming from and I doubt it's a lag issue in reality as everyone preaching the 'suck it up man' sermon is assuming; here's his post in CoD2 forum

Well, all I know is that while you consider him a friend, he doesn't seem to return to favor nearly as well considering how quick he seems ready to abandon you all based on the fact one game didn't go his way. Now, perhaps I misunderstand the poor soul, and you all certainly have the right to try and appease him, but the tone of his post seemed very ungrateful and rather self-centered. However, if there is some serious, long term problem wrong with the MOB server, he may have a point. But if the problem is with his computer, or if this was just an occasional temporary glitch I think he should chill. And while I don't know him, I suppose I posted because I'd hope most people who have one bad game don't threaten to quit in the forum. If the issue is really much wider ranging than his one bad game and stems from a long term problem with the MOB server, I apologize, but if this was over-the-top whining I think even his best friends should give him a reality check. Nevertheless, I'll stay out of it from here on. I'm not a Cassino player, so I'll let the Cassion regs debate the issue.

Sorry if I sounded like I was getting huffy- you're a good fella MoD. All I meant was I don't want to see him go. Sure he whines as you say when things go south for him. But in game he doesn't whine excessively or yell out hacks etc., he mostly plays a fun game. He seems dead set on leaving and I just want to let him know he should stay then figure out how he wants to approach playing CoD. ie, realise others may once in a while get the upperhand and online issues may also stump him from time to time. If it's all too much then it's his choice if he doesn't want to be more patient. His complaints in the thread I just skipped over since I know its him being him and as Mr.Lipton says they aren't big issues - just live and fight another day, but I hope he stays.

I also hate to see regular players leave.Bargod made a good comment.If we could get the regular people to commit to a 5 or 10 dollar a month donation we could have dedicated servers for games.Think about it guys,its nothing for the entertainment value.Where else can you go and spend that little for the entertainment.All of you guys can help but we need regular donations.Tradgedy I know youve been around along time so maybe just alittle break.COD2 IS FUN!
