True story...

Traveling to get pizza one night me and 2 of my friends are in a bad neighborhood at night. (bad meaning they pulled the police station ot and installed cameras ) anyway... we are on a two lane road (lots of thugs around) and we see a merto-bus (city bus) and were the name route is suppose to be its flashing rather fast almost strobe like "EMERGENCY (flips) PLEASE CALL 911" driving down the street, with a few people on it...
mind you its not uncommon to have busses getting robbed or other bad stuff happen on them (example: a friend was killed on a metro, assaults etc...) also there is a lack of police presence in that area.

what do you do?

do you call the police, or keep going?

seriously, what would be your action?

What would it hurt to call 911? Hesitancy and inaction on spectators parts in probable assistance needy situations can make things go from bad to worse. I don't think twice in those scenarios. To me, gawkers are just being a waste....

I'd call 911. I've called them for people casing our neighborhood and for cruising the alleys. Seems like if a bus is flashing an emergency thing it couldn't hurt to call 911.

Well if one day they'.re stuck in a bad situation and ask for help hope they will stay alone with their problem .It's always easy to say i'll mind my own thing....if that driver was their father or brother then what....they had a stupid reaction.What they were afraid to be good guys?That's why there's some much people attacking and robbing others....cause nobody do a shit!! If a guy try to rob a store and instead of staying their and saying tough shit...if everybody jump on that Mofo and beats him like hell...i think he will think a lot before robbing somebody else!!

I would have said call 911.

First, if it's a bad neighbourhood...you have a wife and kids to go home to...why bring a knife to a gun fight.

Second, get the hell out of there as fast as you can.....you have a wife and kids to go home to......

Third....call 911......if that was your wife or kids on that bus, isn't that what you would want others to do??

I always say, it's easier to be a follower than a leader, but at the end of the day...most people respect the leader.

Call the authorities! No doubt. We need everyones help. as others have stated above, that could be your family on board. I carry a concealed weapon everywhere I go. No I'm not afraid of the world. but the way things are going these days its better to have and not need, then to need and not have. I don't know, it's easy to say sitting at home nice and safe, but some crazy part of me would die to save someone else. So if I was on the bus, and thugs were taking over, I wouldn't just sit back and die without a fight.

It really amazes me how a mass of people generally just spectates like they are watching tv. Like I said I can't think twice in those situations-even when trying to coax others to help fails. It's more sad when it's your friends with those complacent attitudes. I was with a bunch of friends [guys 30's/40's] one day who were telling me about an incident [before I knew them] that happened at 'x' place they were at. They went on about seeing a guy get ganged up on and beaten up for maybe half an hour on the ground while a big crowd watches [no weapons involved] in daytime. I just stared at these friends dumbfounded, as they talked like they were watching video footage- someguy is getting pounded lenghtily and they just watched. I asked them what they or anybody did to directly help... zippo!!! Just watched.... lol, they were only upset it took the authorities a while to arrive....

I remember that video. Last year I believe. That was over that lady supposedly getting squeezed out of the line up -her I don't blame for getting catty- not an excuse but bf- the big guy- going berserk with potentially deadly punches is the real biiiiyutch . The worst video I saw was parents at a high school game [3 years ago?] and some hefty college-age guys pound on a parent whereupon one other older guy moves in between and then gets pounded on too.. but dozens of others in crowd just watch. In these situations to protect a downed victim against ballistic heavweights flailing away may be wiser to intercede by jumping in between while not facing dude directly-but more as a shield, otherwise with his croc-sized brain he sees you as someone else seeking conflict, not to mention protects you from getting a smack face on. Gotta be careful the guy you may think of jumping might have chums that are going to jump you from behind.
