Currently, the server is configured as follows:

1) 35 minutes per round

2) Match length of 60 minutes. If the first two rounds run past the 60 minute mark, the match ends, scores get reset, and there is no 3rd round. If the first two rounds run short, then the game allows for a third round (unless one team dominated the first two rounds and scored 6 points).

3) 3 rounds max per match before scores get reset.

These settings currently result in matches that last 70-95 minutes. (The long-term average is closer to ~58 minutes as we are seeing around 25 matches per day.)

I voted 45 min for the first one, 70-90 min for the second question, and 3 rounds for the third. I agree with Canuck here on the rounds being too short.

Poll results seem pretty clear. Does this mean we can expect the time limit to go up some time soon?

I'm back in town, but still have a bunch of work to do as a result of the business trip this week. Plus my laptop is in the shop, so the earliest I'll make the change is Tuesday (after I get my laptop back).

Current setup is 35 min / round, 50 min total. I think... I don't have the config file handy to look at right now. What I think it will end up as is:

45 min rounds, 3 round max, time limit of 60 minutes. The first two rounds would have to end within 50 minutes in order to see a 3rd round. That's pretty unlikely. So most of the time we'll see 90 minute rounds. On a rare occasion we'll see a 105 minute round.

That's longer games then folks like T/A6pak like... so I'm not thrilled with the change.

The other issue is whether 45 minute rounds will result in bigger population drops at the ends of matches. You can see this in the daily population graphs. There are regular dips in population after each match as part of your players leaves for the night.

Changed it to 45 min rounds, max 3 rounds or max of 60 minutes. So you will always see 2 rounds, but possibly a 3rd if the first two rounds end sooner then 60 total minutes.

This change will take effect the next time that the server restarts (probably Thursday AM).
