Any idea on when expansion pack will be out which will include tanks (I assume)?

Any significant gameplay differences besides cuter graphics for the multiplayer?

Is there built in chat support?

Any plans to "port' the Barbarossa map over to COD2 when tank support is included? Hint hint!

I think the Barbarossa map is essentially perfection. So simple. Three main paths if you want to try and zip across in a hurry, but lots of places to hide if you want to be tricky.

The reason for all the questions? well, I've tried Vent a little, but I really hate it. Why? Because you have to pick a channel BEFORE you start a game. For those of us who like to autoassign because we like the challenge of playing both teams, it is really annoying to have to pick sides before hand. And of course, I now know what happens is that people use the general Barb lobby mainly, which means players on both sides, which mean strategy chat is not an option. I'll use Vent a bit just to chat with you guys now and again, but I sure hope COD2 has or will have built in chat support OR even just the ability to minimize the game so you can switch you Vent channel to the proper one AFTER you get in or get switched. Anyone know if my hope will be realized, or is it misplaced?

You can minimize cod2 easily and there is a CodUO minimizer program somewhere on the forums...


For Cod2 I just push alt-tab, I think Druid said you can hit alt-enter(?) to play in a window.

although Alt-enter works to force Cod:uo into a window so you can access your desktop.
The minimizer program is far supperior because it doesn't require the map to reload like alt-enter does.

I don't know if it's just me but sometimes when I use the minimizer program the mouse will be stuck inside the minimizer window. If anyone has this problem, you can regain control of the mouse by hitting alt-tab.

For COD2 I just hit the windows key to minimize...

And I don't think cod2 will ever come out with a base assault game. Hell, they took long enough coming out with PB. I'm sure they aren't thinking anywhere past that. BA seemed to be a pretty popular game, but I guess they didn't agree. Our loss...

make vent binds so you can just hit a button when your bind is on - and you can change channels. its very easy.

I don't have the game, but as I understand it, it has no tanks, no base assult, and no running. Hmm. What other game had no tanks, no base assult and no running? Ah, that would be the original CoD! All those "perks" were added in the expansion pack!

So I assumed they are following the same path. Give you a good but incomplete original game, but re-introduce all the perks in the expansion pack.

All specuation though. Have not read a word. Anyone know facts?

There may or may-not be an expansion pack for COD 2.
I wouldn't hold my breath because they did announce COD3 will be made for console only, no PC version.
