I tried to tease some MOB regs today into doing this, but they didn't respond. But anyway, here's the challenge.

Play German.

Oh, some do. I know. But A LOT don't. Ever. Or barely ever. And since most MOB Reg's are usually really good, I thought this might be a way to "even the odds" a little. See how good some of you are without knowing how to pak the spawns and every base at will. See how well you can adjust to being on the other side of the battlefield.

Now, remember, this is MoD here, and I'm applying to be a reg myself. But I'm also been an "auto-assigner" all my days playing Barb, and wouldn't mind facing a few notable opponents while they are on the Germs for a change, or even having them as my teammates when I'm German! As it is, I'm starting to wonder why I autoassign, knowing that my odds are often better on Russian, since it is often "stacked". Now, I understand friends are going to stack, people want to play together, but how about at least moving around the teams you're on a bit? Just a thought. Well, a "challenge". Anyone up for it?

I mostly play German, but when I play Russian and snipe you, you call me a pussbag. When i'm on your team, you don't mention anything when i'm sniping them.

When we first put up the Barb map it was far more common to be German than Russian. People liked the tanks better and the guns better. I always preferred to play Russian and chose the SVT rifle. Over time I guess we started to prefer Russian because it was felt the Germans had the advantage. Of course at this point I think we know how to play Ruskies to a tee.
Now, Silver loved to play Russian because he was (I'm sure still is) the king of stealing a German tank and spawn killing in your tank spawn. He figured out all the firing angles to hit everything from there. Silver was/is the Barb king.
Well, I take that back a bit. Nobody liked to play against Shadow, who was almost always (perhaps always) German. We all know that Shadow is a killing machine.

Lol thank you very much for the kind words Bargod and i admit at the beginning i did prefer Germans but after few weeks i realized that you will never ever be a good player if you always stick to one side or chose the teams who you will know that will win .
So if you see people that stay all the times one side or they chose the wining team they are always players for stats and they will never be a good players but that's their choice.

Correct me if I'm wrong, MoD. But u use the pak a lot as German. Everytime u r German, and someone is planting R3 u give pak cover to the plant. (like we do as Russians on every base) The clue is to make countermeasures, and that should be easy...........

Did u feel the bullit when u entered the pak yesterday, MoD?

I would have to agree with what MoD is saying here. Yes, the Germans have better tanks but that is it. Russians have the room sweeper with the Ppsh and the great PAKs. And the bases are structured a little easier to defend. Russian is an easier team to play.

I like Russian for the reasons above. I play the game to enjoy myself. I dont care to play something to make it more difficult for myself. Yes, I could do it, but why? To prove to myself that I am also good playing the weaker team? Especially how most do it by camping in tanks? I dont need to prove anything to myself. I just need to enjoy myself.

Just take Samoan for instance. He always plays German. All he does is sit at the hill at R2. That is so boring to me. Or Cap Ron that pitches a tent at German 3. That is so boring to me. I do everything. I Pak, I plant in bases, I snipe, I defend. I utilize every aspect of the game because its fun to me. Finding one thing such as sitting in a tank is not fun so I dont do it.

Well, I do what ever I think is needed for my team to win. That may be sitting on the hill at G3 and blowing up jeep load after jeep load of russians. It may be a halftrack run into the russian spawn then up the back road to r3. It may be a jeep run to kill russian pak gunners. It may be hitting G3 or G2 with a pak from the Russian side or taking the KV1 and doing nothing but D at R3 late in the game. Whatever it takes.

I agree Barb is alot of fun when you have balanced teams. I don't enjoy it as much as Tuchola, but I do like to play it on occasion. I don't really thing that one side has the advantage. But, a good team that works together will usually beat one that doesn't.

Maybe I'll try Barb again... the few times that I've played, it was spawn rape central from the PAKs and I just got frustrated w/out getting to fire a round. Tried again a few days later, same thing. I don't plan to play again, but maybe I'll hop in and give it a chance. I can see why people would want to be on a certain team oppossed to the team being clobbered all the time. Possibly, there are more people like me that just get frustrated and leave...

something to think about if the team is attempting to draw public players to the server. I know spawn killing is "legal" on the MOB servers. Just an empathatic thought on why some people would or could get frustrated and leave. I see it happen in Cassino all the time, too many times.

Sorry Harry. I guess joking insults doesn't really come across in text. "pussbag" is such a stupid, silly insult, I didn't realize you'd take it seriously. Oh, make no mistake, I HATE getting sniped, and I was really glad to hunt you down that time after you killed me 2 or 3 times in a row ! But an insult like that, it was just meant as humourous trash talk. I guess my sense of humor is off, since some took offence to it. Didn't mean to get anyone angry. Also "camper"...that to me is anyone who sits in one spot and shoots/kills people. I like to use PAK, as u know. And i prefere to play in russian team. Master of Disaster u can't tell us that u don't use the Germ PAK to shell the russian 3. I have kill u a lot of time there. And to the last if Germ team are camping at their base (Capt RON) i will always use PAK on their base for shore

I use the Russian paks too when I can!

I'm not critisizing the tactics. But Germans have different advantages. Different guns. More "moderate" tanks. Less efective paks (i.e. can't hit base 1, can't hit any Russian pak), but better defensive positions.

Personally, the only pak tactic I REALLY hate is Rommell using a pak to kill in the spawn. Spawn killing is a skill when you infiltrate and use stolen tanks (or manage to get you own tank across the entire map). Using a pak from distance to spawn kill is less noble IMO. Personally, I think the map should have been made so such a tactic was impossible.

If people don't want to play German, that's fine. But I like people who move between teams. I'm proud of the fact that myself, along with Major Abuse, are in the top 5 for both a German AND a Russian machine gun.

I hope people weren't "insulted" by the challenge. It was somewhat tongue-in-cheek. I love you all.

Well, no. You have a spawn shot that kills is where we spawn. Exactly where we spawn. Like, I'm alive for 0.1 seconds and drop dead without a chance to move. You are the only person I know who I've been killed by with this shot, so it is why I named you personally.

I've use the German pak to pak 3 when it is planted, or when I'm thinking we have guys just about to move in. I occasionally throw a few shots "over the top" of it to try and hit a tank behind it that I might have seen earlier. But I don't know and haven't tried to learn if there is a way to lob it into the actual spawn where soldiers pop up.

I'm not trying to start a war with you, and accordingly to MOB rules what you are doing is fine, but I hate it and was just letting my feelings on it be known. Like I said, it'd be better if such a shot was impossible. I consider it a map error that allows a team to be killed in their spawn from the home team's pak.

i agree i hate to be spown killed, bu when someone do it with me i pay back. I try to use germ tank in germ spow to shell our base, and it works, so protection is ok . I have no problem with feedback. Se u on the battlefield
