I've started playing on F_K's server and noticed the butt scoot problem is still there.
I've heard you can change a setting in the config file to remove the problem.
Anyone know what change I need to make?

here you go . go to your mainta folder in the main open up newconfig.cfg and add

seta cg_smoothclients 1

on the top

Yep...I still get some butt scooting but it doesn't seem to be as bad as before.
I have to add mine manually each time as I cannot get my config. files to open?????

From what I've been reading, the codes I have seen the most are using notepad to add:

seta cg_smoothclients 1
seta fps 1

to the newconfig file.

I was really looking forward to playing on a pure server but between the erratic player movements and the continuing butt scooting problem which 3 patches has failed to fix. SH is still more aggravating than fun for me.

I hear ya Druid...you get use to it though belive me.
The peace of mind I get playing in a cheat free server with a bunch of good guys makes up for the minor annoyances.

It may be just me but the config line really seems to have cut down on the but scooting.

I don't know, Nix, it almost seems worse to me. When 2.15 came out, it seemed like the problem got significantly better. After FK put pure on, it seemed like the problem was worse than before. On the other hand, I'm going through a rough patch right now, and can't seem to kill anybody, so maybe it's not so bad, and I'm just looking for something to blame....

I dont know, it feels like the server has its days. Sometimes i can put a whole clip in someone and nothing, and then couple of bullets do the trick even better. A little tip for all u HOLD THE TRIGGER TILL ITS EMPTY........if you shoot couple of bullets at a time, ur more accurate and plus dont run out of ammo and get killed , I ve been having problems with that SV_PURE but i have to say NO MORE CHEATING

Sorry guys I have been real busy at work lately so I am really just catching up. I will say that Spearhead is something you have to get used to when you have been on nothing but MOHAA. In addition I am still working on the weapons mod and some more minor changes are likely.

In addition, Immigrant is correct in that there is more kick in my mod than in stock. My goal is to have very powerful weapons that require some real touch when shooting. If you play on another server with stock realism you will notice the guns do not jump as much if you just spray and pray. I have found however with the power I have on now if I turn this down it would be instant death all the time. I am not saying it is perfect yet and it will continue to be tweaked in the next 2 weeks but I DO want to keep some skill to the shooting in there. So... as Imm said... short bursts are your best bet.

Yea guys...and if you lean just a little into the screen it helps with the kick......
