can someone tell me first how long cod2 has been out ?

COD u/o has aprox 3000 servers - COD2 has aprox 6400 servers

COD u/o has 392 TWL Teams - COD2 has 1617 TWL Teams

It appears that COD2 is 2 to 4 times more popular than COD u/o.

it doesnt matter, c0d u0 is dying out, just like MOHAA (sweet sweet MOHAA) c0d2 will be out for a loooond time becuz i do belive that c0d3 will not be avaliable for pc

I like the graphics on COD2 but they dont have Base assault. All the games ive played are basically TDM varieties and I get bored just running around shooting people. I like there to be a purpose that brings the sides together as a team. I am interested in hooking up with some MOB members who play COD2 regularly and giving it another run.

I AGREE COWDOC .i am happy with the aim and mix maps but that gets boring too.lets not forget that those of us that have been playing since cod1 all the maps were remade except the 1to 3 dessert maps.

i only ask this mike because alot of the servers seem just as empty as u/o latley-just wondering if its a summer thing?

Could be, school has started for me about 3 weeks ago and alot of others are starting school so their will be more of an absence of players during the day. Now I don't play till after 6 PM because I have Cross Country practice after school.

YEP, I agree too. Public servers doing COD2 leave me with senseless chaotic run & gun style

of play. I join clans to get AWAY from that nonsense. Base Assault seemed to have the least

amount of that type of play so thats why I pefer BA to other missions. Now if you want to play

COD2 in a private passworded server with only MOB members using ventrilo and playing with

good solid military tactics and a very definate goal, then I would welcome it. Games are not real

but as each new one comes out, they get closer to reality. For one, I am very GLAD they are

Cod2 is like the best war game i ever played except Bf2 which is modern time.. But Cod3 looks amazing i heard it is coming out on PC is that true??

The reason alot of mob people like cod2 b/c its more run and gun like mohaa was. Cod2 is more arcade style of play than uo. I think it all depends of what type of game you like. Arcade style or tactical. Arcade get cod2. tactical get uo.

Thanks Stryker, Glad i am not alone with my opinion. Do you know or does anyone know if there is a way to play COD2 on password server with small unit tactics? That sounds like it would be a blast. Play attack and defend or have a roaming patrol the other group tries to ambush. Just a thought. What is MOB COD2 IP? I never find it on the list.

The last clan I was in 3 years ago used to play COD all the
time using the methods I described. UO was not even out yet.
We had some very good maps (stock & madeup) we played on.
I still have some of them left in my COD folder. COD2 should
be able to played the same way but with hard-core players that
appreciate a goal-oriented tactical style of play.....

Hands down CODUO is number one, too maney noobs out think because cod2 came out they have to stop playing uo and move on. I play cod2 sometimes and the only game types i see is mostly TDM and HQ, I Fing hate servers with killcam and the gay ass red-dots on at the sametime. No Tanks wtf is that, took away the MG's wow, no jeeps too, i think the main reason ppl like cod2 is because its was a new game when it came out and the graphics are way better. I dont know how ppl like the game play better. When playing on MOB's Barbarossa map I have more fun then playing any game type in cod2, that and i like tanks, what was the point of making a call of duty game with no jeeps or tanks? Spectre is right for tactical get uo cause there is no way in hell cod2 can be tactical like UO. But if you like just running around like a chicken without its head gunning down other players then cod2 is your game.

Agree totally. You question, why release COD2 without tanks and jeeps (and I'll add BA)? Well, who the hell knows. At the time I thought it was a cheap marketing ploy, that they were going to release a COD2/UO expnasion that would have all that stuff. Then Activison or whoever decided they didn't like money! Anyway, there is no doubt COD2 gameplay was a step backwards from the evolution that had already taken place in COD/UO. Now, if you like TDM, you probably wouldn't notice, and the fancier graphics makes COD2 the better game. But if you like the vehicles and the base assult game mode, COD2 was a joke.

I never bought COD2. I did download it just a month ago...and I don't feel bad about that because Activison really doesn't seem to want my money given they never released the COD2/UO package I was waiting for, then completely skipped the PC for COD3. Of course, they'll blame downloaders and say that's why they skipped COD3 on PC, but the fact was I was never going to pay one red cent for a COD game they didn't include the features that COD/UO had that made it my favorite game of all time. A year ago I couldn't wait to buy COD2, expecting the next evolution of base assult and even more features...maybe I could climb trees and fences and the enviroment would be more destructible! Instead they stripped out all the multiplayer things I loved. Pathetic.

BTW, COD2 really lacks the magic of the first game single player campaign too. Can't put my finger on it, but COD was one of my favorite games ever before I got into the multiplayer. COD2...it seems more like with the health system and the fact the enemies keep coming at you unless you move forward that the idea of patience or strategy is meaningless. Just keep charging and try not to get caught in a crossfire. Hide behind a rock for 5 seconds if you do and it's all good again. You never have the thrill/fear of entering a heavily fortified area with little health...you are always full so blast away. OK, maybe I can put my finger on it!

ummm there's a cod2 server with modded in vehicles including planes, haven't tried it though, if yall wanna do the private server thing mentioned above that sounds like it would be alot of fun.

the thing that pissed me off and i know I've posted this often was when they were promoting cod2 and released the trailer they had tanks and battles at Omaha and desert warfare and planes and cool screenshots.i remember sitting there saying man,mp is going to be awesome ,base assault on El alamein is going to be the bomb!! then they released it without tanks and planes and Omaha etc... lets say Toyota says they re new car coming out in 3 months can get 100 mpg and drive in the water and turn into a hover craft etc... and when they release it its a 1980s corolla with a east la paint job with flames-you would probably sue.

there were a couple interviews with the head guy and he was saying "well ,i don't want to give anything away BUT ,yes,there are battles at calais (Omaha (Sp) ))" this isn't false advertisement because there was the beachhead in single player. i can %100 guarantee that if they said that they are going to remake all the cod maps and add a couple lame ones ,not one f***ing person would've bought it!

this in no way is saying anything towards our players of cod2 because i actually REALLY like the weapons and the graphics.i dont like all the soldiers so small though,im squinting all the time in game play.i have no game what so ever but find myself playing here and there , the fact people are jumping from windows or up from behind boxes and getting a head shot from half way across the map is so far from realism ,it makes me pissed! if anyone remembers -this is what they tried to get away from when the made u/o,they promoted teamwork! someone should post the interviews prior to u/o and prior to cod2.

I have to agree! Although, my son is becoming more involved with COD2 (after several failed attempts to get his game on in there) and is enjoying it more and more. I don't know if it's just boredom with COD and is looking to emulate that experience in there or he is actually attempting to make it "his game". Either way, his eyes and reflexes are much better than mine (obviously) and he seems to enjoy it more these days.

As for me, I like the grapics too, but I have trouble getting any kind of a groove going and as much as I have tried to adapt to other forms of gameplay, bottom line is I LOVE base assault! Cannot help myself, I have tried! I enjoy CTF, DM and TDM as a filler, but my real fun and enjoyment is BAS. Sooo, until they re-introduce "my/our game" in a new edition of the COD series, I'm gonna be right here playing BAS with you guys 'till it won't run on my computer any longer.

I think that COD2 is bigger right now BECAUSE its not as tactical as Cod/UO. In my opinion it was the simplicity of MOHAA that was so appealing. That's what COD2 brought back. The old run and gun.

Even when Mohaa Airborne is available, I don't think it will be the same as the original. Its the same reason why myself and my friends still prefer the original tecmo superbowl over something like Madden NFL 07. For my friends and I, its the relaxing simplicity that wins us over rather than the complex realism. But then again, I am from the old generation.

I hear ya factor. Give me Tecmo Bowl anyday. I'll wax you too Man that game was the best..... that and RBI baseball. I can't tell you how many controllers I've seen spiked and broken over those two games....

both games r run and gun. just cod2 is more of it because of the closed in maps and thats really all u do is run and kill people. it really all depends on what u like. i cant choose one over the other personaly

Sorry, I've got to disagree with that one. In uo we have vehicles, = less running, unless your refering the the sprint function.

Personally, its UO all the way for me, I use my COD2 cd for a coaster.

i like uo but the gameplay is so slow even on tdm servers, BAS you sneak and get nailed by a tank after you kill someone, Cod2 would be more fun with tanks and what not but activsion sucks, but at least they arent EA and include spyware in the game(dont buy bf2142 spyware) Cod 2 is a blast but its run n gun, when i play uo its nealy impossible to hit people in bas and i shoot the what would seem the same distance in 2 it seems more realalistic as far as that goes

I have tried COD2. It hasn't hooked me yet and it is dangerously close to being uninstalled.

Advid gamers are always looking for that next new game coming out
soon. They just keep getting beter and better. COD in all its forms
has stuck around more than any FPS game I know of. If the company
that makes it is on the ball, they will keep making it in bigger and
better versions. COD4, come on, we are alll waiting !!

BTW, one of the MOST important parts of gaming recently I
almost forgot to mention. The MODDERS !! They take an
existing game and make new & better things to use. So if
we are comparing COD:UO to COD2, you must keep in mind
that the modders have been much more busy doing great stuff
to COD:UO than COD2. Case in point, all the new guns and vehicles
plus many new maps with UO. I just checked out the new quad
20mm gun in Frontline map. Thats why after all this time it is
still being played.....

umm i beg to differ, they made a bas gametype for cod2 as a mod along with tanks, i like uo but its laggy for me idk y and i always get weird errors??, but the thing i absolutely hate the most is not being able to jump scope people, and hamma rapes me on the stock maps that too......
