one of my pals (goes by Sgt. Snapple in game) has had problems ever since he bought and installed COD:UO. not only does he not see any of the MOB servers, or any of the hundreds of servers i see on mine, he gets a huge list of servers i have never seen before. i told him to try and connect through the console of "connect 8.9.4.(forgot the last two for cassino..) and he made it on for a few seconds before being kicked because of some error. i told him it might've been he downloaded the wrong PB with his 1.51 patch so he uninstalled, deleted files, re-installed the right patch and it still does it. i don't remember what the error message says but i'd really appreciate it if someone could help me and my bud out here.
if this isn't enough, i'll get the message and post it.
Is he sure it's UO and not just cod? He may have installed both, but may be clicking on the cod shortcut instead of the uo shortcut.
Post the error message, without it we can't do a lot.

Make sure you have the same versions of the game installed. If he is running version 1.X and you are running 1.Y you will get different servers. It sounds like the problem. Our server will be running whatever version you have and he wouldnt be able to see it.

The ingame browser has always been very buggy.
Last time I reloaded COD:UO after my drive crash it took days and a dozen+ refreshes of the server list before Barbarossa showed up.
This is why I've never depended on in-game browsers on anygame, I've always used ASE.

I don't play UO so I'm not sure if there are different updates to the game. I.E. Version 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc. I know with COD and COD2 if you have version 1.1 and you search for servers it shows all servers with 1.1. If you have 1.2 it searches for servers running 1.2 etc. So if you have version 1.1 you are seeing the servers for 1.1 and if he has something different say 1.2 he sees the servers for 1.2. This would be why he can't see the servers in his list or connect directly to the server because his installed version isnt the same as the one on the server. This may not be what the problem is but I've seen this before when my dad and I started playing COD2 together.

ASE = All Seeing Eye, it's a server browser.
best link i could find atm, druid probably has a better 1:
http://www.download.com/The-All-Seeing-Eye...4-10197471.html
ASE use to be free or you could pay a fee for extra abilities in the program.
Now it's only free for 3 weeks since Yahoo bought the program.
Even though Yahoo bought ASE over a year ago they haven't done anything to improve it, the only change they made is to charge people.

okay he says it says Error: Sever Disconnected - Sgt. Snapple has been kicked via Punk Buster (for 0 minutes)... Restriction: Inadequate O/S Privileges
from the PB F.A.Q.
I keep getting kicked by PunkBuster for "Insufficient O/S Privileges"?
Download and run this file from any location, it will check for adware that stops you from being able to play on PB servers. The VX2 adware edits your user rights when it infects your computer, and many programs do not repair this when they remove it.
http://www.greyknight17.com/spy/VX2Finder(126).exe
Click the "Find VX2.betterinternet info" button to make sure that you don't have this adware. If there are no files listed, go on to the last step. If you find the adware files, (it is usually 3 random named dll files) Select all the files found.
Press 'Delete These Files'. The program will delete all files but one that will be deleted on reboot. Allow program to reboot. Once Restarted:
Press 'Guardian.reg'.
Press 'User Agent'.
Press 'Restore Policy'.
Clicking on "find vx2.BetterInternet info" again should show all fields blank.
If you have no adware files, just click on the "Restore Policy" ButtonPart of the anti-cheat requires the game to played on an account with admin privedlges.
If he's trying to play on a non-admin account , then there is this.
Is there some way to modify my system configuration to be an administrator equivalent from PunkBuster's perspective?
Yes (under Win XP Pro or Win 2K). This can be accomplished by setting certain privileges for the user that will run the game. To do this, first temporarily log in as an Administrator. Then go to Control Panel => Administrative Tools => Local Security Policy. This will open up the Local Security setting window. Expand the Local Policies folder and select User Rights Assignment. This will bring up a list of security settings for the computer. You will need to add the user that will be launching the game to have the following privileges. If the user is logged in while making changes, the user must be logged out and back in for the changes to take effect.
Debug Programs
Load and unload device drivers
Manage auditing and security log
Modify Firmware environment values
Profile Single Process
This is done by double clicking on the setting and then the "Add User or Group" button. You can either type the user or group name into the field or click on advanced to select from a list. If you select advanced, you may need to click on the "Object Types" button and make sure all 3 boxes are checked. Then click "OK". Click on the "Find Now" button to generate a full list of all users and groups on the system. Highlight the user you want to add the rights to and click "OK". Keep clicking "OK" untill you are back at the Local Security Settings window. Repeat this process for the rest of the list. That user will now be able to play on PB servers without getting kicked for "Inadequate O/S Privileges".

Guardian Key--- is called:
User Agent String---
{4C418DBB-F691-4943-3B88-95C1BD7121F9}
and neither him nor i know what to do next
It should give you the option of deleting either the file associated with Guardian Key
or the registry entry, don't know which since it's not on my computer.
