I had planned to check out the server, but instead I found myself standing at attention saluting the Canadian flag!!!

Hard not to, er, uhh, "notice" that great avatar. Yes, "hard' is the right word!



Anyway, this is GREAT. Quite a few of us were pushing for a modern weapons server, now we got it. Good stuff!



Now the debate begins. What maps? What game types?



One suggestion. Smolensk on CTF works REALLLY well, much better than base assult. That with modern weapons would be cool.



I'm sure there are many other ideas out there. I hope we do either a CTF or Base Assult with this. Is that what was running on it?



Anyway, thanks again for not "standing still". This shows that MOB is still growing and gaining strength.

We are likely not going to change much for a while since the server is so popular. We certainly want to hear ideas from the regular players of that server on changes they would like to see. And we still have reserve capacity on our clanserver box to install alternate maps and weapon mods in one of the slow servers.



Let's explore and enjoy this new server as it stands for a while.

Yes, Blk96 is working that area now. Actually we are even missing links to some of the MOB COD2 servers in addition to the Modern Weapons server. He is also attempting to fix the sometimes very much delayed loading of the Homepage due to the the way it is linked to ServerSpy where the status is retrieved.



We might as well address the game stats also. This is one of the complicated areas to address with the new server. Steel had to rewrite the formulas involved with scoring the different weapons to make the stats more accurate with the Modern Weapons Mod. Unlike our server, there is a manual operation involved to keep it updated. And of course the stats program is different than either of the two we use plus the server is running on a linux box.



Again, we want to go slow with changes on this server until we are comfortable with all aspects of the operation. We will work with Steel as her time permits.

Hey Mike, I was thinking... I could keep running the stats and putting them in the [FS] webspace and then you could put a link to them from here. Make the link a pop-up from here, that way the stats would open in a separate page, and when a person is done looking at them, they simply close it.

It'd all be in straight html, so I can still take down the [FS] webpage, just using that webspace for those stats.

Just a thought. Oops, gotta get out of here and get to work!

Everything looks very good here except the TDM stuff.
There are many great missions in the COD family but
DM and TDM aren't among them in my opinion.
Goals (besides just endless killing) are important to me
when I play these games....

I played a couple hours the other day and it was pretty fun. The only thing I noticed was the map seemed kind of small considering the number of people playing and the improved quality of the weapons. Are there any bigger maps that could be incorporated? What about having Barb or TF with modern weapons? Thta would be really cool. Not sure if these things are possible, just thought I'd add my 2 cents.
