Ok, so what's the dealio......is Spawn Camping ok or is it a frikken cheap shot for pussies?

That's a tough one Sigma, and I'm sure you'll get mixed responses about this thread. Unfortunately, whether anyone likes it or not, it's gonna happen. I've noticed it happens alot more in Allied Assault, simply because the spawns on the stock maps don't seem to change unless someone from the other team is actually in the spawn area. Now on FK's server, and correct me if I am wrong, I think he has random spawn areas. BUT....as people play the maps, they are going to eventually figure them out as well. And as far as whether its ethical or not? Hmmmm......guess it depends on the person. For example....The Rush Party Spearhead map is horrible for the Axis. But on the Strike At Dawn map it's bad for the Allies. I think it's a pretty fair mix as far as the spawn killing goes. I've been guilty of spawn killing before and felt no remorse, but on the other hand, it's happened to me and have gotten pissed. I guess IMHO I just look at it as part of the game and go on....Just my .02 worth!

the way I look at it is if the teams are uneven or the other team is really kicking our ass then I will spawncamp and not think twice about it but I dont like to spawncamp on maps where the other team has no hope like that sealion map lots of ppl like to sit up in those bunkers and spawncamp the axis to death and thats not really fair for them they really only have the one spawn point and to sit there and blast them the moment they appear is just cheap and it makes it no fun for the ppl playing axis as I am sure we all know by now but some maps you dont have a choice about spawncamping like brest and destroyed village they are just too small you really dont have much choice the best spots on the maps turns out to be really close to the other sides spawn point so it depands on alot of things but in general I do kind of find it cheap but I have been know to do it

I spawn kill without remorse as long as the teams aren't terribly unbalanced, but usually will switch sides in the event they become that way. It sucks getting spawn killed but it's part of the game...just gotta work your way out of it.

well I just got out of a big spawncamp game the allies were spawncamping us so bad that I almost quit
but all I have to say to them is pay backs a bitch

here my score on the last map I played tonight and unlike the cowards I was not spawncamping but
however I was strategically defending (camping) in one bulding in our spawnpoint because I knew they would be trying to get there LOL and
sure enough 28 of them did

Yeah sometimes, like on Sealoin I follow someone trying to kill them or following their gunshots and realize I have eneded up killing a few people who had no chance in that water so I make it a point to bail and retreat to a building in the middle so as to at least give them a chance to fight.


No matter which map though, I get the feeling of being cheap and slimy by sitting there plucking them away as they have no chance.

Guess I'm used to good sportsmanship.............you don't tie up the deer and then shoot it!

normally I dont just sit in one place for a whole map but I was a little pissed with them and figured they deserved some pay back LOL but its all in good fun

I will spawncamp if the teams are unfare and what he was doing on that map was really cheap ( let me clear that up I dont think less of him or anything just on that map his tactics where cheap normaly he is a very skilled player) I cant remember the name of the map but its the one with the library he was on a roof shooting right into the building where we have to spawn nobody had a chance I got killed 8 times in a row before I even got 10' from the door but maybe its just that map anyways shit happens and I am not angry with him or anything I will just have to hunt him down next time I see him LOL and in the future I will try to keep the bitching to a minimum

oK let me start off by saying when you put in a screen-shot please go to jpg form and reduce it this scrolling is killing me.
Now the map you are referring to is Strike at Dawn and it is a bad map for the allies maybe more time is needed before you can get shot. As far as spawn camping goes in MOB's allied assault servers it is a way of life and if you don't want it or like it just leave. I believe EA games had a run and gun type game when it made the maps. Also there was no realism and it took many shots to put someone down unless you were a sniper.You could spawn and have a chance.Then came realism couple of shots down you go.Spawn killing was born.One thing you might try is if you think you are being killed this way just wait till the spawn area changes.the only thing that i dislike is when people come into a match that is very lopsided and join the team that is kicking ass.Some have the excuse that they always play either allied or german that's bullshit.If you think you have skills and want to show them off join a team thats getting its ass kicked see if you can turn it around.The guys on your team all have more deaths then kills you try to be the other way.

I'm fickle. Most of the time I'm not a big fan of spawncamping. There isn't much sport in it, and doesn't require a whole lot of skill.

But, on the other hand, sometimes you just want to skip the foreplay and get down to the shaggin'. You know it's dirty, you're pretty sure it's wrong, and your partner might not be getting the most out of her ride, but...

... you just don't care. Hey, the Devil's gotta smile once in a while too, you know.

I think I agree that when the teams are very lopsided...it is BULLSHITE to spawn camp and not join the other team.

You should be able to play either team to keep them somewhat even.

I don't think twice about spawn camping. Becuase first of all, it's hard as balls actually get to one thats good. It's gonna happen, deal with it, then do it back, HAHAHA.
