We had a flier at work a week or so ago..



This is what it said: A person calls your home and identifies himself as a representative of the Court.

And tells you you did not attend or fullfill your responsebilities for JURY DUTY,and a warrent for your arrest will be issued.In order for you to avoid being arrested you should give him your SS# and they will void

the arrest warrent.I know it sound stupid but people freak out when they here they can get arrested and give them there SS# in fear and unknowingly now a thief has your personal info..By the way a court officer will never call your home in this situation..they will only notify you thru the mail..

Same thing is going around here in Boston also. Channel 4 (CBS) had a report on this a few days ago.

People should know by now.. you never give any type of personal information over the telephone... unless you know personally who you are talking to or unless you initiated the phone call in the first place.



If whoever was calling for ss#'s had called me and laid that line on me, I would have encouraged them to hurry up and get the police to my door...I need a vacation.. lol...
