AntiAliasing (AA) smooths jagged lines. For example, look at the telephone wires in Carentan without AA on and you will see a stairstep effect. With AA enabled, the lines will appear smoother. Other notes:

1) AA can be set to OFF, 2X,4X or even higher depending on game. Using any AA will slow your FPS significantly.

2) The higher your screen resolution (ie 1280x1024 instead of 800x600), the less you need AA to make the lines look smooth.

Serious gamers usually have AA set to OFF so that maximum FPS can be obtained.

OMM, I am running at a higher res.. how do I turn the AA off? I have tried to find it in the game and the Systems folder on my computer but have not found anything about it.

AA is an option in the COD2 graphics menu but not in COD UO.

Perhaps that option is available in your video card settings, Doyle.

The video card AA settings are normally set for "Application-controlled".

If you have a NVIDIA based video system, then you can check this under the "Performance & Quality Settings" menu.

I have looked and looked but am unable to see anything mentioned about AA on my card.

I have a ATI RADEON X850 Pro.
