You have too much junk in your Call of Duty/uo folder. Get rid of the maps and mods you don't need.

A great utility to clean your Call of Duty folders (for cod, coduo, and cod2) is this one http://callofduty.filefront.com/file/;67336

1. Look into your pb updates

2. Clean up your UO folders

3. Turn off any hacks you use

4, 3 was just a joke

whoopycushion
ill try all these

I thought we had this pinned somewhere but I can't find it. Sooo, I'm gonna try this from memory.

Go to your Call of duty folder; start, my computer, c drive, program files, call of duty folder, uo folder, find a file called uoconfig_mp and right click, select "open with" select "notepad". Open in notepad and look for "seta com_hunkmegs "xxx". Where the "xxx" represents a number, change this value to "128" then close notepad. When prompted to save it say YES.

Then restart your game and see if it will run for you ok. If not, repeat the process and change the value to "256" and try it again.

Good luck with that!

Sabot, If I remember correctly it should be set to half your system memory, ie 1 gig ram, hunkmegs = 512,
512 ram, hunkmegs= 256, etc.

Yeah, you're probably right. But, I tried that and for some reason it never fully appreciated my thoughts on the matter. So, even though I'm running 2 gigs of ram, I still set it at 256 and all is well in Hunkmeg world. LOL!

Hey Buddy, A friend of mine just resently suffered the very same problems and Steel hit it right on the head follow these procedures and good luck...

1. Make sure his cod/main and cod/uo directories are cleaned out; no mods, no files that don't belong there. I know you said his game is new, but if he already had cod then there might be junk in it. By the way, he does know that he needs both cod and coduo to play coduo, yes?

2. The 1.5 patch that included all previous patches is here http://www.callofduty.com/patch/

3. Then, here is a download location for the coduo 1.51 patch. http://www.gamershell.com/download_7850.shtml

4. He can always uninstall and reinstall the game, which often works to fix problems. However, the correct way to do this is to do an uninstall, either from the game's uninstaller or via add/remove programs. And then completely delete the Call of Duty folders. Lots of folks don't know that doing an uninstall leaves the folders on the hard drive, so that if you don't delete them, when you reinstall, you have exactly the same problems as before you started, lol. You must manually delete the Call of Duty folders.

Good luck to your bud.

BTW, if he's actually trying to install more than one copy of cod & coduo on his hard drive, that's a different story.

I use to have to deal with all that, but the post above healed my problem smile.gif
