I'm picking a Ducks v Sabres final.
The West really is a crapshoot, with any of those teams capable of making it to the final (except possibly Calgary, but if Kipper gets hot then who knows) I just think that the duo of Pronger and Neidermeyer will be too solid on D, and combined with a talented young offense led by a vet who's on fire (Selanne) and solid tending they're gonna be tough to beat. Their special teams are nice too which is always big in the playoffs.
In the East I just can't see anyone matching Buffalo: Scoring on all 4 lines, solid defence and goaltending, great coaching, plus they just got Connolly back too.
@ Rushie: Sorry bud, but the way Luongo has been playing I can't see your Stars making it past the 1st round (unfortunate since the Nucks are my most hated Canadian team behind TO)
@ Wings fans: You'll get by cow-town and possibly even the winner of the Nashville/SJ series but can't see you beating the Ducks unless Zetterberg gets back fast and the amazing disappearing Datsyuk finally shows up to play a game in the post-season.
@ Kleerance: Brodeur is clutch. Unfortunately though you're going to need goals to win the East, and aside from Elias & Gomez I don't think you've got enough "O" to get by Buffalo.
@ Saucer: Ever hopeful, but other than Jagr & Shannahan the Rangers are looking pretty thin. Can possibly see them getting past Atlanta but no further than that. Is Hossa back yet?
@ CC: As I mentioned, I'd love to see them advance to the final, but Fleury has been anything but solid, and if Malkin pulls his disappearing act in the high stakes game like he did in the juniors last year you're in trouble. Gotta love Jordan Staal though - he's a gamer.
I guess I'll be cheering for the Sens though.
1. They're the only remaining Canadian team I like, and
2. It'd REALLY piss off Leafs fans
