PnkbstrA.exe & PnksrtB.exe

So the latest version doesn't seem to like my new comp. Those two little programs are draining my pc dry of system resources. This takes place with out actually even running COD2.

1. Spikes from 0% to 80% cpu load

2. Loading up virtual memory to two full gigs.

I did a little homework only to find that others are suffering from the same issue. Fortunetly I did find the utility to uninstall PB( cleaned the registry as well) and that fixed the problem but once I fire up COD2 and PB reinstalls itself I'm back to where I started.

Uninstalling and reinstalling cod2 did not help.
Anyone else having this issue or had it?
Krazed
run services.msc, then find them on the list and stop and disable them thats what i did that shit laged me up a storm

I did the same thing as Krazed, and it fixed it for me. The only problem, from what I understand, is that once this newest version is final, we won't be able to disable the services like that. Hopefully the lag issues will be worked out in the newer releases.

I wonder if this is my problem as well.... how do i stop this?

Go to the Start Menu, click on Run, then type in services.msc and hit enter. When that opens up, look for the two called PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB. Right click on each one and click on properties. Click the stop button to stop the process, and then change the start-up type from Automatic to Manual.

Thanks

I know this topic is old, but I just did what was mentioned above, and I was just wondering if I had to start these up before I ran CoD2 again?

Thanks

I'd like to second Axels question, ill most likely to this later today. This is probably the cause of my random lag spikes >.>
