Old Man Mike
After a month of practicing with this new toy, I am finally able to control it enough to make this video:

Hoooover

I thought it would be so easy to fly one of these things. I guess if you are an R/C pro like Blk, then maybe it is. I really think flying a real helicopter would be easier than flying an R/C unit. You aways have a forward looking perspective flying the real thing. With an R/C you have to be able to reverse the way your operate the controls when it is flying toward you vs flying away.

Anyway, the real objective is to fly it well enough outside so that the on board video camera can take some interesting movies. We'll see.

That is incredibly wayyyyyy cool!!!

That is so impressive Mike, what a talent.

My brother in law and my dad fly planes, they have crashed every one of them. Every time they crash one, all I can think of is that could have been another Louis Vuitton purse. biggrin.gif

Good job Mike. I've been meaning to ask you how you were coming along with that thing.

Nice Mike. Last time I talked to you about that helicopter you were wondering how anyone could possibly fly it indoors. Looks like you're making progress.
MADDOG
Way to go mike!!!!!!

Guess i was wrong you wernt going to crash it the first time you took it for a test run lol mobrules.gif

Shred and Burn
See, Mike may call himself old, but realistically he's got teenager reflexes with a bunch of high-tech equipment

Rock on Mike.

Mike, when Dave read your post and saw your movie... he started laughing and said "He has way too much time on his hands."

LOL

Ghost Child
I can't believe that Julie let you fly that thing in the house!

I also bought a much smaller helicopter at Toy'rUs for 40 times less than I paid for the Draganflyer. The little Airhogs Reflex helicopter does quite well for $60. Here's a little video showing how it compares to the older Helix:

Thanks for all the comments. And yes, I am still a kid at heart.

All bow to the King Hoverer.

I assume that plane is much harder to manage in a hover than a quadcopter.

(Of course it might be difficult to take off and do it in an 8 x 8 foot room.)

With my electric plane I can hover it in my living room.
