I'd be interested in learning how to model vehicles for COD. Are there any tools that make this process fairly straightforward or is it still in a true programmer's environment? (As an analogy, websites used to be HTML coding only, but now there are several Dreamweaver type programs to simplify the process.) Any help (links, tool recomendations, etc) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Clancey, you may want to start here. I'm sure if you do a little research you could find more information resources.

But to answer your question, no, there are no simple tools. It's still rough and time-consuming to do any sort of mod. Plus, it's one thing to get a mod to run on your local server on your own computer to test it, but quite another thing to have it run on a server with a lot of players.
I find modding a lot of fun, but it is an incredible amount of work. Everytime I do one I promise myself I won't do it again, lol. But then I get another idea and I'm off into the modding black-hole again.
There is one down & dirty way to mod. It's called get someone else's mod, crack it open, and simply make changes to it to make it the way you want. People are doing this all the time with my weapons mods, lol.

Steel - can you double check the URL ... it's not coming up for me.
Sorry, Snot's right. I typed the url from memory instead of looking it up to check.
