I got kicked for having a high ping on Stock Maps. I talked to a few of the MOB members and they said it was set at 20 minute kick. So now I can't play for 20 minutes. I was just wondering if you could possibly lower the time limit to just a couple minutes.

You sure about this? There is a 20 min default if someone is kicked using PB powerpoints. But I did not think that the default applied for a high ping PB kick. Did you try reconnecting before the 20 minute period was up?

Mike this was the kick you often see when people have connection issues. I believe it's the "Ignoring MD5 Tool Queries" one.

In TF and Barb it's set to a 2 min kick but it's 20 mins in stocks.

Are we able to shorten the kick time?

Alot of people have been getting kicked from the stock and barb for the MD5 tools punkbuster.. what's that about?

Ah, so he was not kicked for high ping but rather for Ignoring MD5 Tools. This is completely different. The maxping command is done out side of PB so the PB kick period does not apply.

MD5 Tools Queries is a PB function and here the default kick period could apply (but I'm still not sure).

Get some consensus of the desired period for stocks and I will change it.

Sorry for the wrong informaion Mike. My fault. I thought it was for a high ping.

This is a check PB does to verify that the core execution/data files within the game has not been changed. If there is some problem with the user not being able to report back to PB or there is a file that has been changed (not likely unless trying to cheat) then PB will kick with the error. Sometimes this happens when PB does an update. I will look into it later today.

I'm a bit confused. I think the "MD5" thing kicks people quite often in stocks. Usually people jut reconnect and no problem. I can't believe there is a 20minute ban or we would have heard of this before. Right?

I tried reconnecting right after i restarted my computer. It still wouldn't let me through. I was pretty much banned for 20 minutes. Thanks for everything Mike.

i believe the 20 minute pb kick is for losing key packets. whether that can be lowered i'm not sure?

I compromised and changed it to 5 mins.
